Nice 4 point win against a shitty Boise St team.

    Pitt >>> Boise St.

lol. This game sucks. Which one of these teams goes to the final four?

    lol.

  • Sloppy game, but first big stage for the young kids on the team. Robinson got more comfortable as the game went on, and McGary made some nice plays but was overanxious a lot of the time. Stauskas has ice in his veins, nice surprising coming from a Canadian.

I love the lineup of Burke, Stauskus, Hardaway and Robinson with one of the bigs also.

Stauskus is going to light a team up this year. The boy can shot and has a nice dribble drive also. Vogrich may continue to get the start due to being the senior, but Stauskus will continue to get the majority of the minutes.

Yeh Stauskas is deadly, and like you said can get to the hoop. Going to be a great player long term player for Michigan, because no chance he leaves early IMO.

McGary is going to be fantastic. His motor, his hands, his ability to run the floor, and his rebounding ability are all pretty darn good. Like Dakich said he needs to slow down, and that will only come with experience and maturity.

Would like to see Burke get the bigs more involved on the roll. He had guys open and didn't pass them the ball, overall he didn't have his best game.

Hardaway looked pretty darn good, and played like the veteran we needed him to be. Looks much improved this year, and knocked down some big shots and had some nice finishes.

Robinson is an absolute beast, with a pretty decent jumper to boot. Needs to be more assertive IMO, but hopefully he will be as he gets more comfortable. He is explosive on the offensive end, and the glass especially.

Lots of positives from tonight's game IMO. The kids battled against a pretty good Pitt team (they will finish top 25) and came out on top despite not playing their best. The shooting and the offense in general was just off, but they squeaked out a win like they need to if they are to live up to the hype.

Agree with all of this, esp Stauskus and Burke. Burke didn't have a good game. He didn't pass the ball inside a number of times when he should have and forced several shots. He needs to realize he doesn't have to do everything this year. Even Morgan looks better around the rim.

  • Pitt lost. Clearly Delany had something to do with it. That, or it 's Roushar's fault.

I'm not thrilled with how Michigan played, but I don't think last years team would have beaten a team like Pitt while going 3-17 from three.

This is coming from the team with only one good team on their nonconference schedule this year in Kansas.

    ^^^ This ^^^

Last few years, we lose this game easily. This year, although we didn't play well we fought through it to come away with the W. And we killed Pitt on the boards, esp down the stretch. Let me repeat ... we outrebounded Pitt badly. Pitt.

    Go Blue!!!

  • Thought Michigan looked pretty shoddy until the last 6 minutes of the game. Gotta give them credit though for climbing out of the hole and getting the win. Michigan survives!

Tip of the hat to Illinois for winning the Maui invitational. They made the conference look great tonight and they're featured on the ESPN home page.

John Groce is a good coach, but I am glad he got the job over Brad Stevens.

Brad Stevens coaching a team who always has a crapload like Illinois would be extra scary. I feel less threatened by John Groce.

Just asking the question. Turns out it's only been 4 years since UM had an equally impressive win, congratulations.

Well beating you guys the past couple years hasn't been all that impressive. shrug

The serious answer: Michigan didn't play great defense in the first half and gave up a lot of open looks. They also had an off night from the 3 point line. I also don't think Burke played a smart game that played to his strengths (especially the whole "let's jack up an NBA three" mentality).

The sarcastic answer: Michigan is wayyyy overrated and probably won't even make the tournament.

He can make some amazing plays and then he can make some stupid plays. He is a typical freshmen.

They beat all their teams by double digits coming into the game including a blowout win over a very good Lehigh team.
