Haha, I watched them against Kansas State. Michigan is the real deal. They have my stamp of quality.

They have looked good. Really looking forward to the game tomorrow, and all the games in the B1G/ACC challenge foe that matter.

Has Michigan ever beaten Duke? Also, do the good ole days include cakes?

More than once. I think the last time was Beilein's second year. We played them twice and split.

  • Just got two dirt cheap tickets to see some 5 star guitarist named Neil Young at Madison Square Gardens tomorrow night. I hear he wrote a song about me, d.wags and due51 called 'Old Man'. rockon

I was crying the last time he was there, but it was from laughing so hard.

Living in the past, it is all spartan football fans have left. biggrin

You better treasure those memories, because it's gonna be another 25 years before you guys are relevant in the B10 again. The cycle has begun.

and when will you guys be relevant again? Serious.

Guard play can go a LONG way in the NCAA and those two are NBA ready.

As long as Hardaway and Burke stay healthy it could be a magic season.

And for the record, I desperately want the B10 to rule in every sport. You guys sucked at football this year, but we really sucked.

Poor Steve. He keeps repeating himself like he is in shock after witnessing some horror. Yes, you guys suck this year in football. Maybe your basketball team will be better. Maybe not. But just let the football go, man. Let it go.

That's the beauty of it. We're always relevant. We're Michigan, fergodsakes!

I wouldn't call it shock, I would call it acceptance. I've known the B10 has fallen hard in football for a long time.

You know, I'm a lot like you are.

BTW, when my brother was matriculating at Michigan (never liked my brother) he was working for the organization that brought concerts to campus. He was in charge, three times of getting the "star" back stage or where ever the hell they were supposed to be. Some sort of liason or guide, I have no idea. Anyway, it was Neil Young, it was Chick Berry, and it was James Taylor.

Said Chuck Berry had a card and would hand it to him for "lounge" "drinks" "bathrooms". Wouldn't say a word.

Said James Taylor was a complete ass.

Said Neil Young was about as laid back and as cool of a person you'd ever meet. Made small talk with him, etc. Enjoy the concert. I'm very jealous.

Check the headlines and tell me Michigan isn't relevant.

Tell me a BCS bowl isn't relevant.

Check recruiting and tell me kids in the sport do not think Michigan is relevant.

Burke is still trying to get confortable with all the new talent around him, but Hardaway looks like an entirely different player. I think Burke will settle in before B10 play starts. I hope so, anyway.

Meh, they're top 25-30, I'll give em that. relevant I guess they could "upset" a top team, but at this point, its really all we can say.

Saw him 2'nd row dead center in an old Vaudville theater up past Harlem. He had 1 guy from Crazy Horse up there and the pedal steel player from Harvest. One of the best shows I've ever taken in. Saw him at Pine Knob back in the day with Booker T.'s band. All 5 star gigs with elite five star talent.

Tomorrow is all Crazy Horse, and I can't wait.

I don't know both of them looked amazing to me. I guess the competition argument could be made, but I think Pitt has a great coach/program. Pretty good test early on imo.

I don't know how good you guys are or aren't. I think I've heard you might get to a sweet 16 this year. However, that blanket you throw over us I get a strange feeling a crazy little italian guys might rip through it.

I look forward to you being able to celebrate a victorious season where you don't actually pay your players.

Pitt was very good. They crushed in their consolation game. I just think Burke is trying to do too much. He needs to trust the talent he has around him more. He will.

    Cute.

Michigan has actually showed signs of improvement this year from last, same can't be said about the Spartans.

Once 2013 kids are JR's I don't think you'll be talking very much about relevancy when talking about the University of Michigan.

I was there when Jalen Rose was wearing that suit of red and Jimmy king had just got out of prison, or he was just going back in ( I can't recall) that's when Lucas hit that last second shot to beat you. It was fun. I thought you were honoring the fab five then. I just didn't know if the other guys were in jail, or were going to jail, or whatever.
