Uhhh, using that logic, why isn't Harbaugh coaching in the SEC?

    WTF?

Did they even talk to any SEC coaches?!?!?!

So, what jobs are left ... and who gets them?

Tennessee ... Charlie Strong or Kirby Smart
    Wisconsin ...
Cal ... Mike Gundy or Chris Petersen
    Kent State ... Skip Holtz
    Temple ...
    WMU ...

Barry is a lot like Bo. He thinks $2.6 million is way too much already. Think about it. Iowa's borderline incompetent HC inexplicably gets $3.5 million a year for running the program that was built into a powerhouse by Hayden Frye into the ground while BB gets $2.6 million a year for being B10 champion three years running. Can you imagine what Arky would pay a coach who won the SEC three years in a row? You watch. BB will take his best assistant coaches with him and they will all get fat raises.

600K ain't that much more. If that figure is correct. The badgers could have ponied up.

WOTS is that Pelini is interviewing for the TN job.

Also, why would Mike Gundy leave his alma mater, one that's flush with $$ with T-Boone for essentially a lateral position at football-neutral Cal?

Why would Skip Holtz leave a Big East team for another Big East team?

Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.

I wouldn't hire him. I would go after Al Golden and Charlie Strong and keep Paul Chryst as a backup plan.

Well Arkansas is loaded with talent. Definitely a team that has under achieved this year. The ceiling is much higher there than at Wisconsin.

I think you're just going to have to chalk this up to another instance where Steve is right.

They were loaded with talent. All their best player’s from the past two seasons are gone bedside’s T/G Alvin Bailey and maybe Knile Davis if he comes back. Booby P left some talent there, but they are not loaded.

Gundy - Cal is a good job. The P12 is a better conference. Northern Cali is a much better place to live. If he stays at OSU, he should make Boone open the checkbook big time. Can you imagine what he could do with Cali talent?

    Holtz - Holtz was fired.

Pelini - Mediocre coach; UNL should help him pack and hope he goes quickly so they can beat Wisky to Al Golden.

Holy crap, I missed Holtz being fired. After just 2 seasons?!

Idk if it was two or three, but he had a disaster of a season this year. Kent State is his dad's alma mater and he knows the Midwest. Maybe KSU will hire him?

Wow. Holtz was a big name after tearing it up at East Carolina. Real up and comer. MSU plays USF next year; it'll be interesting to see what they have.

Cal still has mediocre facilities though even with the new stadium, and that’s not changing anytime soon with that Athletic Department hurting for cash IIRC. Facilities are something OSU does not lack, and plus it’s his alma mater. Gundy’s not leaving. He’s just trying to get more money out of T Boone.

WOS that UTk is going to hire Strong. I feel sorry for Teddy Bridgewater.

I think Pep Hamilton gets the Cal job.

Is Wisconsin a better job than Pitt? They seem about equal to me.

    A. Who is Pep Hamilton?
    B. Historically, Pitt was the better job. But certainly not over the past 20 years. Factor in the ACC is crumbling and the B10 clearly will be around as a major conference five years from now and I would take the Wisky job.

Colorado will be tough to turn around. No talent. Not much of a real fanbase. And the P12 is more competitve than it's been in over a decade. BSU and BYU also are grabbing talent in the region.

Also, has the NIU job been filled yet? That would make 3 MAC jobs plus possibly 3 BE open. BTW how is Treadwell doing as a HC?

NIU was filled by their OC.

Treadwell was 4-8 (3-5) the past two year. Not sure if that's good for their program or not.

Sounds like Treadwell has some work to do before he takes the next step. I wonder if Barry Alvarez will coach Wisky in the Rose Bowl or hand it over to one of the coordinators. Both are relatively new.

He runs up the score on crappy teams, put 80 on Indiana last year, went for 2 against minny while winning 41-16 in the 4th quarter. He also makes comments that makes him seem like an asshole seemingly once a year. After MSU beat a high rated wisconsin team a couple years ago by 10, he said "I think we're playing as well as anybody in the country right now. Unfortunately, we stubbed our toe against Michigan State" .

Someone can give some other quotes from him, there was from a week ago about last year's regular season game vs MSU.
