Thing is, if I claimed MSU was going to be great and they turned out to be turds, I've never had a problem looking at it and saying how bad we really are.
There are some on here who have the ability to lie to themselves and believe the tripe. I don't know if that angers me or makes me jealous.

It would certainly make this thread entertaining. However, I think most people expected Michigan to go about 8-4. Honestly, Michigan's season has gone about how I expected.
We got trashed by Alabama. Denard had one of his annual blowup games against Notre Dame. We lost on the road against a ranked big ten team.
If we beat Ohio State then this season will have been a pretty successful season when you consider much we lost, how hard our schedule is, and what our quarterback situation has been like.
Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.

I had Michigan going 8-4. Winning on the road against powers such as Notre Dame, Nebraska and tOSU are traditionally tough. Michigan wasn't ready yet to match up with the Bama's of the world either. I like Michigan's schedule next year with those teams playing at Michigan and Penn State being the only traditional power away game.
Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.

I was more goofing around than anything else. I'd expect UM to beat Iowa and probably lose to tOSU. I'd love for MSU to win out, but that depends on whether they can handle Northwestern's O. I like their chances of winning @Minny regardless, but there's a big difference between 7-5 and 6-6.
It's been a solid year for UM. I thought both squads were in the 8-4/9-3 range going into the season (I thought MSU would be 9-3 (6-2), UM 8-4 (6-2)). Obviously I vastly underestimated how bad the passing O was going to be for MSU.
Next year should be very interesting, and the Legends division should be tough again. Northwestern looks like it's going to have a couple solid years with its offense and Minny is on the rise.
Can't believe how bad Iowa is (and that MSU managed to lose to them at home). They may end up being the cellar-dweller in the division for awhile.

As much as it hurts, my head tells me that there is no way we leave Columbus with a victory. They're undefeated, in Urban Meyers first season, with no bowl game, and they're in the shoe. It may be one of the most hostile environments we've seen in college football this year. However, it's the game and anything can happen.
The strangest thing for me was how un-clutch( yeah, I made that up) your defense was this season. In all of these crucial moments I just assumed your defense would rise to the occasion like they did so many times last year. It was just a weird season for MSU. I truly have no idea what to make of your team this year or in the future.
I really like what Northwestern is doing. I don't think their defense will ever be very good but they're going to make every game interesting with their spread-option offense. I think Mark has the potential to be the best offensive player in the big ten next year. I think Northwestern and Indiana are heading in the same direction. They probably won't stop you but they're going to give everybody fits when they have the ball.

A poor offense makes things difficult for the defense. If you can't consistently sustain drives and convert 3rd downs, your defense is eventually going to suffer. Just ask Michigan 2008-2010.
State's OFFENSIVE rankings amongst the rest of the Big 10.
PPG - 11th
YdsPG - 9th
Rush Yards - 8th
3rd down % - 7thThe offense puts too much pressure on the defense over the course of a season when it performs like that.

Lol not a chance.
Reyes is exactly the type of hitter we needed in our already pretty stacked lineup. Table setter at the top of the lineup with speed.
Our staff went from one of the worst to potentially one of the best in a day.
Plus Jays still have trade chips and money to spend.
We will be in the playoffs next year for sure.

You look at the Miami vs OKC series Battier was hustling in front of players and drawing the charge at several crucial points in the series.
I do agree that Duke flops, but they play hard defense and their players are great at hustling over and setting up for the charge. There are some flops, but a lot of those are great plays as well.
