Yes I think its easier going 11-1 at Arkansas then it is going 12-0 in the B1G at Wisconsin.

So, it's easier to go 2-1 against Bama, LSU and A&M and win the SECCG than beat OSU and win the BTCCG? I think you are overestimating OSU and underestimating the SEC West. And that doesn't even account for the fact that the bottom half of the SEC West is much better than the bottom half of the B10 East.

That doesn't sound like the kind of record that is going to get Arky into the BCSCG. What happened to the "easier path" BB moved to Arky for?

If you look at their schedule it's pretty insane; Bama, Florida, LSU, S. Carolina, T A&M should all be losses.

Also, how high are expectations for year one?

Arkansas has played LSU pretty even the last few meetings.

Aggy beat Arkansas for the first time in four years this season.

Bama... well they're a different story.

Like I said earlier: I expect Arkansas to struggle for a couple seasons. I would be ecstatic with seven wins next season. New QB, RB, WR, TE...

It depends on the SEC schedule makers. We were supposed to go to Kentucky next year, not Florida. Arkansas got screwed. I want all this realignment crap to stop messing with the schedules.

And Wisky has played OSU close to even the past few times. We are not knocking Arky. We are disagreeing with the argument that Bielema left Wisky for Arky because it's easier to win a NC there. I just don't see it, certainly not anytime soon.

Petrino made Arkansas a contender without ever having a defense.

I hope Bielema can do better.

Maybe Arkansas is a better job... The national perception of the state of Arkansas hurts the university and the football program. We were like 8th on Forbe's most valuable football programs or whatever it was.

And Bielema made Wisky a contender. You are missing the point. Wisky has been consistently one of the top teams in the country since BB took over. He regularly wins 10 games and is going to his third Rose Bowl as B10 champion in a row. Petrino made it to one Sugar Bowl via an at-large bid. Again, it's not a knock on Arky or Petrino. It's a disagreement over why Bielema took the Arky job. IMO it was because of money for himself and his assistants and better facilities.

I'm glad that the Big Ten decided to put MSU in Michigan's division. You can never have enough creampuffs to kick around.

The gap between Wisconsin and OSU is bigger than the gap between Arkansas and the SEC elite’s in the West IMO.

Bama is great now but Saban isn’t going to be there forever. LSU despite its talent has its down year’s. I like Gus but I’m still not sure if their success was a combination of his genius and Cam, or was it just Cam. I’ve been extremely impressed with TAMU, Sumlin is going to be great IMO. TAMU will the dominant program going forward IMO. And if IIRC their crossover is Mizzou.

Despite what SEC homer’s say Wisconsin was/is OL U. I don’t see why BB can’t establish something similar in Arkansas with a larger talent pool. Add in some SEC caliber RB’s (not just system guys like Ball) and I like their potential.

I’m not saying Arkansas is some great program. But when comparing the two I like Arkansas’s chance’s better then Wisconsin’s.

Arkansas is the 4th or 5th best program in their own division. That isn't changing anytime soon.

Wisconsin right now is the 2nd best program in their division, behind tOSU. PSU may overtake theim once the sanctions are complete.

Arkansas is the 4th or 5h best program in their division, behind Bama, LSU, and aTm. Many would put Auburn in front of them also. That is without giving credit to an upstart Miss State team and an Ole Miss team that is bringing in some of the best talent in the nation.

It isn't going to be easy for BB. He may not make it to the end of his contract.

True. But the gap between Wisconsin and OSU is bigger than the gap between Arkansas and the SEC elite’s.

Miss St is back down to the dweller after Mullen leaves, which should be pretty soon. I like Hugh Freeze but Ole Miss isn’t a destination job. As soon as something bigger open’s up he will leave.

BB will be fine. In a couple year’s he should have an elite Oline. SEC caliber backs. A QB who get stretch the field vertically like Russel Wilson.

  • Sounds like Butch Jones’s is the front runner for the UTk job. lol Tyler Bray, CP, and Hunter are gone.

Now you are just making stuff up. In 2010, Wisconsin beat OSU to earn a share of the B10 title and play in the Rose Bowl. In 2011, Wisconsin lost to OSU on a last minute lucky play, but still won the division and the conference and went to the Rose Bowl. And this year Wisky again barely lost to OSU, in overtime. For Arky be closer to Bama/LSU, it would have to be up their butts. Arkansas hasn't beaten Bama since 2006 and that was by one point. It's a little closer with LSU, but not much, having lost 6 of the last 9.

You are reaching. Arkansas has never won the SEC. Never. Not one time. It just hasn't happened and doesn't look to be anytime soon. In that same time frame Wisconsin has won the Big Ten 6 times. 6 times they have won the conference while Arkansas has never did accomplished winning theirs. Do you hear what I am saying? Your opinion of what could happen maybe different, but what has happened laughs at it.

Agree on Miss State and Ole Miss, just pointing out the competition Arkansas has for being the bottom feeder program.

BB could be fine, but he is going to be competing with the SEC elite for kids, and he has no history with the schools down south. I don't expect him to just whip together an elite oline, RB, QB, and defense. He will go 7-5 to 9-3 and will be on the hot seat in 4-5 years.

To play devils advocate, wasn't Arkansas preseason #5 in the country? Seems like the talent is there, if they have a coach that isn't totally insane they would probably have done alright this year.

My gut feeling is that Bielema will probably restore that team to the Petrino level in a few years which means a program performing in a range of 18th to 10th ranked in the country.
