It will change all coverage packages and blitz schemes. Run and pass. It's going to be bigger then many think

Will put a lot more on the LB's shoulders, Jones will need to show significant improvement in pass coverage. It could definitely cause Denicos to get off to another slow start.

... or Duzzi could roll the dice on Ezra. I wonder exactly how much they've seen out of him...

Could get interesting at safety too; should be pretty hard to keep Cox off the field...

  • UF giving Wisky all sorts of trouble early. They are very athletic and like to run. But they seem to settle a bit too quickly for long jumpers. If those shots stop falling in the second half, I wonder if Wisky climbs back in this.

Man, MSU should be real good on D. Almost everybody back and potential upgrades at the positions where players are leaving.

Big games will be holding serve at home vs Michigan and stealing one from Nebraska in Lincoln.

    Pretty much everyone is saying there'll be a drop-off from Adams . . .

Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.

Looks like Wisconsin is cold shooting...2-5 from the line, around 33% shooting from the field and 3pt line. Also, Florida is shooting .75 from the field. I can't imagine that game keeping that pace in the second half.

One guy (Murphy) for UF is shooting lights out. Putting major pressure on Wisky's D. They have to hope he cools off in the second half because they have no answer.

Could be. Can't get much worse than giving up a TD every other game.

    You never know though.

Right after Countess went down with injury, all of us UM fans thought our secondary was doomed. But alas, Raymon Taylor stepped up and our secondary is arguably the strength of our D.

Same could be true with whoever is replacing Adams.

It is true, it could be a Max Bullough situation, where the backup is equally or more talented.

Speaking of Bullough, isn't he a RS. JR, or True JR? Do you think he will declare for the draft or stay for his senior season?

That's the exact mentality I had. I thought our defense was doomed after that, but Raymon Taylor has really stepped up and surprised me. Defense is looking very bright in the future.

I think kovacs will be missed. Reminds me of phil Parker at MSU back in the early 80's. Good quarterback for your defense back there. Great leader. You might miss him a ton. Parker is the DC at Iowa now. Maybe that's in kovacs future. Obviously a smart kid.

He looked very good in the Michigan game. Looks like a 1st rounder, was hoping he would declare early lol

I'd have agreed with you after last year, but I think his lack of speed and athleticism finally caught up with him just a little this season. He's still a great player and a tough SOB, but in this D, I think Maytison needs a more athletic SS.

MSU isn't a very good football program.. takes year of consistent winning to get to that level. - copemoney 1/22/13

  • For all the people from MSU saying they play a much harder schedule, the schedules look very similar in difficulty.
    Michigan MSU
    NC State> Kansas
    KSU< Uconn
    Pitt> Texas
    WVU> Miami
    Arkansas> ?

Aside from NC State, which the conference made you play, pittt, West Virginia, and Arkansas are all down this year.

I'm really excited for the CB duo of Countess and Taylor next year. Should be a no fly zone on both ends.

Didn't WVU just get beat by like 40 points? confused

  • I agree about his speed, but the kid makes up for some of it with his football IQ. He puts himself in the right position very often. One of my favorite wolverines. Him and Ryan.

Exactly. Marvin Robinson (our backup SS) is way more athletic than Kovacs is, but Kovacs has a very high football IQ, great instincts and an amazing leader for our team. Traits that Robinson does not have (or has not displayed yet).

About 40, yes. To a very good Gonzaga team. That's better than losing to a division II school like Miami did though imo.

What's the point in even comparing the two? There have to be better match ups on both schedules...
