What difference does it make. It shows that our coaches can develop RBs. When you recruit so many 4/5 star RBs some will fall through and some will be stars.

Or it shows that the star ranking system is a bunch of BS.

Did recruiting rankings exist in 1999-2000?

I'll acknowledge that it's been awhile but it is an extremely stupid question when it is known that Fred Jackson can develop RBs and he's recruiting Green, Smith, and Shallman.

Can he develop RBs? RB's coach 2008-present.. that's post Mike Hart era..

His RBs were unbelievable pre 2008 and then RR introduced a spread offense and Jackson works with pro style RBs.

Four star players sit on the bench at those schools, they were overrated from the get go.

Attached a fun read to this post.

Any system is never going to be 100 percent true, but the research has shown that 4 and 5 stars are more likely to be successful in college than 3 stars.

The research looks at 10 years or so.. not close to a large enough sample size to determine one way or the other

  • Lunardi's latest S-Curve - Michigan up to 2, IU down to 5 (Still an autobid), OSU at 9, Minny at 10, Illinois at 12, MSU at 17, Wiscy at 36.

I'd be very happy with a #2 seed.

Michigan should get a one seed. if all things stay the same.

I understand how the S curve works. I was just saying I would be happy with a #2 seed. A #1 seed comes with a ton of pressure and there really isn't much difference between a #1 and a #2 in terms of who you play.

Meh, ask Missouri, they were pretty bitter last year. Oh, Hollis is on the selection committee, so if you guys are close, I'm sure he'll put you over the top and give you a one seed.

Believe you're twice as likely to reach the FF being a #1 seed over a #2 based on history..

Will try to find updated article that speaks to that

To a large extent, you are confusing historical statistical correlation with causation. #1 seeds are generally more likely to make the final four because they are usually the four best teams, not because having a #1 seed makes their path that much easier.

Hollis will not be involved in any conversation regarding B10 teams. He is required to recuse himself.

    Whatever the reason- if I had a choice b/w a 1 and a 2, I'm obviously taking the 1..

2's get knocked off decent amount in the 2nd round compared to the 1 v 8.9 matchup..

All teams are good teams in the S16

It doesn't matter much in the beggining rounds but when you get to the sweet sixteen and elite eight the matchups are a lot better.

  • What are some of you guy’s hearing about Sims’s, Bell, and Gholston?

Sims’s and Gholston should probably come back. Bell would be making a mistake IMO if he came back.

I keep seeing the TJ Duckett comparison’s for him but I think he could be a poor man’s Stephen Jackson in the right situation. He has a nice all-around game.

    Bells gone

    Sims I'd put at 50%
    Gholston 40% gone

Sims has potential, but hasn't been healthy for a year.

Gholston said he's coming back but he's got a kid so who knows

All have children. A will be going to the NFL I believe. I agree with your assessment of sims and Gholston but they need to take care of family first. They can finish their degree later. As far as Bell goes, if he comes back I'll try to kick his ass for being that dumb. He'd get 40 carries a game and he'd be abused. ( I don't think Bell has a child )
