You don't have to. We're talking Michigan basketball anyway.

They're very very good. Tournament is in March. They need to win two to get to the 16 and four to get to the four. It's tough. they definently have the ability to do that. It's very tough. It's why Izzo is considered one of the countries greatest coaches.

Do you think we'll go undefeated this year?

Can't worry about that now. One game at a time. The team seems to be developing nicely, including a few guys off the bench, which'll help come March.

  • Idk if any of you are watching the Colts-Ravens game, but damn that's one impressive defense Mattison built.

How many times have we heard a team's success is built off the recently departed coach's effort.

Happen all the time. Ravens will likely give GM a ring if they win it all.

Mattison has always created outstanding defenses. A few years after he leaves, one of the best defenses to play in college football wins the 1997 national title. He then turns around Ron Zook's defense to win the 2006 national title at Florida. He then coaches the Ravens into one of the best defenses in the NFL. Now he's at Michigan again and the trend is showing that we will again have an outstanding defense.

After they watch what we do to Nebraska next week, they might just concede those games so both teams can spend the extra time on their studies.

I don't see a team beating you. However, I thought that about Indiana.

I've always said, the mark of a great coach is how good their ex-team becomes two years after they leave.

Rich Rod is doing well at Michigan this year.

Can I just say that this whole "developing" players thing has always been so much B.S. Izzo, Bo, Woody, they all develop players, they take 17 year olds and make them better. Mo Pete sucked as a freshman. Day Day got better every year. the reason why the flintstones went from making the tournament, to making the final four, to winning a NC is because they got better yearly. It's what coaches, great coaches do. If Izzo had one group of kids who he took to the final four You'd say, great class, decent coach, well done. The man has gone SIX times. Nobody he's ever recruited that has stayed four years has missed a final four. He develops players to the point where they get there. Nix was a piece of goo. He's not a superstar but he's better. Payne is better. Appling is better. We don't know abut that Harris kid, but we'll see. If a coach really isn't developing kids, the school doesn't keep him, his record doesn't say 10 sweet 16's, a zilly conference titles, some BTT championships, a bunch of elite 8's 6 final fours, two NC title games, and on NC. He's one of the best college coach in our state we've ever had regardless of sport.

  • So right now the excuse from Sparties on why we're undefeated is because we haven't played anyone nevermind the fact that K State has beaten Florida and Ok State. What will be the new excuse when we beat Ohio, Minnesota, and Illinois?

Talk to us about Russell Bird. I hear he's your best shooter. Tell me more.

We only went 8-5. I wouldn't say RR is doing all that well, really. But he's done a heck of a job with the D since he left. I'll give you that.

Our best shooter is that guy on I-96. We don't look good otherwise.

Jim Delany directing officials to make sure UM wins. Or Ed Martin. Or the media. Or the B10 is just down this year. They have a number of oldies but goodies to choose from.
