You're going to count half a championship where you don't go play in the reward game now ?? SWEET!

When you stop counting the tri-championship you backed into by avoiding OSU in 2010, we will give up our division co-championship from 2012.

You still have to beat undefeated OSU in their house.

OSU vacated some of those wins, it was co-championship, unlike your natty which was disputed.

Our 1997 natty isn't disputed. It was voted on by the AP writers just like every other season over the past 70+ years.

Deal. You also have to stop counting that Bball thing from last year and you need to throw in your softball national championship. .

You want us to give up three championships to your one? That doesn't seem quite fair. What else you got?

The coaches disagre!!! That's the one that counts for the BCS.

joerexrode: Izzo on B1G expansion: "Not a big fan..." mentions tradition, extra travel, burden on players. Says no other comment, says more.

joerexrode: Izzo continues: "I give our conference credit that we're being proactive, because it's kind of a zoo out there."

joerexrode: More Izzo: "I just question sometimes how the two things go together. Academics and travel."

The BCS didn't exist in 1997 and coaches don't get to vote on who the AP sportswriters pick as the national champion any more than they get to vote on who the AP sportswriters pick as All Americans. Try again.

I think it's funny how our "1/2" national championship didn't count according to them but Dantonio got a "big ten championship" and last year we only got a "1/3" big ten basketball championship.

If I've ever called '97 a half a championship, I apologize. It's disputed, and I tend to think Nebraska won it. You guys were the second best team that year though, mad props.

Since when does being the best team have anything to do with being named national champion? No way was Izzo's 1999-2000 basketball team the best in the country that season. I'm not sure if it even was in the top 4-5, but you guys like to claim that one. The AP sportswriters voted and awarded Michigan the CFB national title in 1997, just like they have voted and awarded other teams the CFB national title each year since 1936. That has never been disputed by anyone (except you, apparently).

Here's the thing. Who cares? You have a NC trophy somewhere and that's cool.

Here's a fact: say "1997" football championship to any fan and they think split title. Um/Nebraska Say 2000 Bball championship to any fan and they MSU.

I'll let you guys argue semantics

Might work out in our favor over time? Rutgers and Maryland instead of OSU and Wiscy sounds nice.

Are we sure the other team is Rutgers? I'd rather have Syracuse for the basketball (and lax).
