But we aren't supposed to have the spots. We are supposed to land Green, Treadwell, McQuay and a replacement OL for Dawson.

    Newsflash:

    That isn't going to happen.

Treadwell isn't coming here, we are dropping like a stone unless Treadwell is messing with everyone.

McQuay nobody really knows, but SC is presumed favorite and you have to think FSU and Vandy have at least as good as shot. Long shot at best.

Green sounds like a good chance, and perhaps a replacement for Dawson. But Conley is unlikely going to stick, so his spot should be open before too long. Michigan will have spots left over if they hope to land 25.

I'm hoping Michigan goes HARD after Paul Harris now that Dooley got the axe.

You guys hear about the AJ Barker story?

I actually thought Jerry Kill was a good guy. probably gonna get fired soon.

Link? I thought Kill had a shot to turn Minnesota around.

As for Reschke, I don't think Michigan has a chance, but I would love to see it happen as much as for the meltdown as the fact he is a good talent.

Meh. That letter (posted to the internet, no less) was over the top. No emotionally stable person does that. I don't know Jerry Kill, but it's almost like a crazy ex-gf letter.

Way over the top. That letter was crazy. I thought the kid had talent, but I'd stay clear of him.

I started reading, but didn't finish. Seemed like solid rant from what I read. Each kid handles things differently though.

    I read it all.

Kill should most definitely be fired, imo.

I agree none of the names I listed are slam dunks, but (a) Green has never been viewed as a replacement for Dawson but someone we have always wanted along with Dawson, (b) we might miss on Treadwell, but replacing him with a LB would be an unexpected twist and (c) we have been reaching out recently to several new-ish DB prospects in case we lose Conley and whiff on McQuay, which means it's unlikely Reschke is being targeted for that slot.

Treadwell hasn't let anyone know who leads forever. With a win next week, we'll see where we stand.

Ehhh, I agree that it is a damning piece on Kill, and that it should have some consequences for Kill, but to be fired is a bit extreme IMO. Besides, there were some things in that article that weren't necessarily that big of a deal that were exaggerated.

    This is Michigan, fergodsakes.

    Never Lose Hoke

  • I read about 1/3 of the Barker letter. It's sensational, and damning on the surface but it's just one side of the story, and it's an awful long rant for someone who could have just said "I quit."

    Get over yourself kid.

Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.

And they have put RU and UMD into the Leaders. We just got phucked. Sorry, but they need to swap PSU and Wisky with UM and MSU. We cannot be stuck with the corn and milking cow people. We just can't.

I'm somewhat indifferent to the move at this point. I understand that this move was more about money than academics or athletics. I can't pass judgements on it until I actually see what they end up bringing to the conference.

  • Legends gets Illinois
    Leaders gets Maryland and Rutgers

yay? Rutgers is average this year, but who knows what they'll be like in 2014, doesn't make too much of a difference.

It makes a difference for recruiting. I guarantee you these divisions will be short-lived if they ever take effect at all. We are quickly going to 16, which will mean four divisions of four teams each.

Yup. Love 16 teams, not sure how i feel about 4 divisions though. I guess they will most likely go hand in hand.

    Who's next? Mizzou and 'Cuse?

Makes the Legends division easier, but what a joke. 2 cross-division games? I hope MSU keeps its protected rivalry with IU; State won't see tOSU for a decade lol. That's going to lead to some very unbalanced schedules, BTW.

I think Cuse is a no brainer because of it's basketball program, it's lax program and its proximity to NYC. Short of adding ND to the national brands already in the B10, adding both RU and Cuse will provide us with the best chance of building a following in NYC. Also, the State of New York has over 10 million people outside of NYC.

Beyond Syracuse, and excluding ND and UT, my guess is UNC, UVA, VT, NCST, BC and GT are all in the mix. My guess is we wilk end up with UVA but it depends on how everything plays out.

    No competitive balance whatsoever.
