Yes, but l_himmler was saying "all the other teams use QB's as runners" like they are primarily run first QB's. That just isn't the case.

Well he's right in a way, they do USE their QBs as runners, just not run first QBs. bad word choice

lol I'm too quick for your edits!

lol did my edit help a little? I think he was talking about the ability to take off instead of eat the sack (which is what rocky was talking about) Not pure option offense runner like Denard and Gray

Wiscy already has a 2014 QB commit. He is pretty good, too. I didn't know they recruited QB's, I thought they just took transfers shrug

I saw that. I hope he likes riding the bench to a guy who transfers in that year.

Any reason he has no other offers besides WMU? MSU already offered a few QBs for 2014 so it doesn't look like Stewart was a plan A guy, which is saying something considering he's an in-state guy

No idea. A lot of us (UM fans) are really high on him though and think he's gonna be a great QB.

  • Pipkins is going to play a lot this year I think. Campbell did an interview the other day and said Pipkins is stronger and quicker off the ball than he is. Campbell isn't a weak guy...

Soooo sick of hearing about how MSU was last in the B10 in rushing last year- ALL OF THE OTHER TEAMS USE THEIR QB'S AS RUNNERS. That makes an absolutely enormous difference, and inflates the rushing totals of very meh teams and teams with runner QB's.

Does anybody really think that Indiana had a better overall rushing attack when it counts than MSU? Purdue? Illinois? Northwestern? Minnesota?

The fact that we had the lowest total yards rushing is essentially irrelevant. If every team in the B10 ran a pro-style O with a pass-only QB, we would've finished 3rd-5th, and that's with the patchwork and injury-plagued OL that we had last year.

Irrelevant. Who cares if the 20 carries a game come from someone known as RB or are split between RB and a QB. Number of carries is what you are getting at.

But, that doiesn't really matter either. If your run game sucks, so you abandon it more often, how does that make your run game any better?

Finally, even if any of that mattered, none of it pertains to the future of a run game being different this year.

Pointing to the simple fact that other teams have running QBs is just an excuse.

He's switched positions twice.... he looked good in the Sugar Bowl last year, and is being counted on as a starter this season. For him to say that a true Frosh is stronger and quicker than he is considering the athlete that he is for his size, says a lot about Pipkins.

Enlighten me on how you came to your opinion. Specifically tell me what part of Campbell's game isn't good that you observed. I'm interested in hearing this.

13 Tackles last season, 5 solo tackles, and 2 sacks shrug

Hasn't shown much to prove otherwise

A stat line? That's your basis for "not good?". Ok. Thanks.

If you can find where I said we was good, I'd like to see it. He wasn't as good as Martin or Van Bergen but he doesn't suck. You're just following the crowd by saying "he's not good" when I'm willing to bet you've never actually examined his play.

  • Coaches and insiders reviews haven't been better than "bust" until this offseason.

I am curious to see if he is able to step up this year.

This is his 4th year on the team (and healthy) and he has accomplished nothing. Find me where i said "he sucks". I said he's not good, and you just admitted it. He hasn't been good his first 3 years. Could he be good this year? sure, but this is the big 10, prove that you're good.

Up to this point I think his arm work hasn't been that great. What little film I've seen he seems to let people get to his body pretty easy. He also seems very big but not strong. Those two things can be worked on and from what I hear have been.

3 years? He was moved to O his 2nd year. I'd expect someone who follows Michigan football so closely to know that.

I'd expect this response from someone who actually, you know, played or coached the game. And in part I agree. But in his first year as an upperclassmen back on the DL, Campbell showed flashes of dominance last year.

A blanket statement like "he's not good" is just ignorant.
