The big ten rep better hope that Oregon is in the NC game. Just saying.

I sort of agree. I think you need a really elite D to stop Oregon, but I was stunned yesterday to see how easily USC moved the ball and scored on them in return. If Oregon has an off day on offense or even a bad half against a good offensive team, they easily could lose in a shootout. And I said at the beginning of the season that Alabama will shut them down if they meet in the BCSCG and I continue to believe that.

No big ten team has the offensive fire power of USC however, you're correct I was mesmerized by that game and bieve that Oregon giving up that many is a by product of their offense. Just too fast paced. I watched that more then LSU Bama. I think Oregon scores 28 to 35 points against Bama.

I thought we were going by the rankings? Rankings say K State will play Alabama. Do you have different rankings you use to support different posts?

Neither plays in a conference championship game. That might work against them if Oregon goes undefeated

The team plays well together. I hate that fact, but their leaders are way better then anything we have. Brutal schedule. They find a way. That said: 35-14 Alabama.

I would def go with Bama as well. No question.

Kelly reminds me a lot of Tom Coughlin as a coach. Very safe with the ball, plays for field position, solid special teams and just avoid mistakes. When Golson or Reese throws an interception they end up on the bench. Same with Coughlin, early on this year but their RB (I forget his name) fumbled the ball and the guy rode the pine the entire game after that.
It's all about paying attention to details on these teams as well. Whenever ND gets an interception you see everyone on that D turn on a dime and just start blocking...sounds really basic and a no brainer, but they do so many intangible things like that so well.

  • Big 10 hoops preview on BTN. IU #1, OSU #4, and UM 5.

There's no way Michigan should be 5. That's absurd. I don't care how highly rated the recruits are, that's just insanity.

  • Question for the coaches, I saw an article in the Freep this weekend where medical experts/researchers are arguing that kids shouldn't play tackle football until after age 14 to avoid concussions/brain injuries.

    What are your thoughts?

Idk. ND has been getting a boost in the computers up until now, but they are just hitting the crap part of their schedule (Pitt, BC and Wake) and that is going to hurt their computer score. And both Oregon and KState already are ahead of them in the human polls. If all three of Oregon, KState and ND finish undefeated, I see at least one of KState or Oregon coming in ahead of ND. But TBH I will be shocked if we end up with four undefeated teams. It almost always looks like this in early November right before a couple of totally unexpected upsets happen. This is not over yet. Even Alabama is not a lock for the BCSCG based on what I saw Saturday.

I think ND is a better team than Michigan and if there was a rematch they'd still come out ahead.

We would be the better team if we played now. The only reason they won is because we had like 6 turnovers and Denard's kept his turnovers down ever since then plus our defense is a lot better now than it was then.

Yep, ND is the real deal. At this point you have to applaud what they've accomplished. They are most likely on their way to play Alabama in January.

It's still not a given that they beat USC and even then they need two of K State, Oregon, and Alabama to lose and they are much better teams than Notre Dame.

In bball freshman have more of an impact on the game than football. If the freshman live up to their expectations I could see us as a top 5 bball team. If not I could see us outsde the top 25 but we do have an all american point guard and we return most of our starters with a stellar freshman class. To me I could see a case for # 5. It won't matter anyway though as the season will tell us if we are worthy of it or not.

Notre Dame has gotten the benefit of a lot of things such as Denard throwing it to the other team which is a mistake he has not repeated since then despite going up against other stiff defenses, Pitt missing a sure field goal, a bad call against Stanford.

Probably MSU. Both teams play Northwestern, but UM has yet to face tOSU's O.

I agree with this. I don't see the Michigan defense holding tOSU offense to what MSU did.

    Getting 6 INTs isn't luck.

When you're a traditional power like MSU, you end up some love from Delaney. He wants MSU to win the B1G every year, its whats best for the conference .

This is all hypothetical discussion but even if you turn it over 0 times, I still think they beat Michigan. You are underestimating how good ND is this year.

But then again I'm talking to the guy (brady hoke) that thought Michigan was going to go undefeated and beat Alabama next year. LOL!

Maybe you should switch over to basketball early this year. The hate is creeping back.
