I have never had Pecan. I don't like the way it looks.

Apple has to be warm. Not hot, but American Pie warm is perfect.

    My Father-in-Law likes rhubarb pie.

Oh man, Pecan is just pure sugar, but I love it.

I actually prefer my pie cool, with Cool Whip on it.

Strawberry-rhubarb is a nice change of pace.

Under no circumstance should raisin pie be allowed to exist.

You really have something against these raisin pie's. Childhood trama?

I will have to give one a shot this Thanksgiving. One of my brother in laws brings at least one for dinner.

No, I just had never heard of such a thing until today. The thought freaks me out beyond imagination.

Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.

  • Uh. What's happening everybody? It's awful quiet in here. Are you rejoicing after last night, or crying in your beer?

    Don't answer that. It's rhetorical.

I'm still dumbfounded by the existence of raisin pie.

How are UM fans feeling about Northwestern this weekend? They're coming off of a bye and have a tricky O . . . but their D isn't great and it's in AA. I think a 10-14 point UM W is in the cards.

It's like that episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm where he says 'What about the grape? Makes great chewing gum, great juice, but you can't make a pie with it. No grape pie'.

Had a pumpkin cheese cake with graham cracker crust on Halloween ftw.

    I think UM takes them.

If Iowa gets Weisman back and he's at full speed I think Iowa MIGHT give them a bit of a challenge, but I don't see another loss happening to UM until Ohio State. Also, if UofM some how has a rematch with ND then I see another loss.

  • Ok, so I dvr'd your st. cloud st. game and just flipped it on. What's with the student announcer with the southern drawl?

Edit: Huskies' defense giving the Spartans trouble early ... hmmm

Lol, watching a Tom Izzo preseason game is about as useful as a raisin pie. Izzo keeps the team below 75% until the B1G season, at which time he slowly takes them from 65% to 85%, back to 75% for the B1G tourney, then unleashes them in the NCAA tourney.

    This.

Even in a preseason game where we put a complete beat down on a team in the presser he'll come out talking about how unhappy he is with the teams performance.

Well, if he came out saying that after the St. Cloud St. game, this time you should take him at face value.

I'm not worried. He also tries a lot of different lines and different things early on in the season.

The team looking rough early on in the season has been going on for as long as Tom Izzo has been coaching there. I almost feel like some of it is on purpose. IE a guy will spot up sink a three and then you'll see Tom rip his head off for not running back fast enough to get on D. I think his MO is to put the fear of god in the players.

He's been at the same level as us for the last two years infact he's probably at a lower level winning only one out of 4 against us in that span.

What are the expectations for Friday night? Idk anything about UConn this year other than they have a new head coach.

they lost their key big men (Drummond and Oriakhi), but their guards are really, really good (Shabazz Napier and Ryan Boatwright). On paper, Nix and Payne and possibly Costello should have some fun inside. I think we start with a win vs UConn and a loss vs Kansas, but i wouldn't be surprised with an 0-2 start as Izzo tinkers with the lineups and rotation alot in the beginning of the year.

I didn't realize you had Kansas coming up too. Didn't they lose a lot? The two twin big men (Robinson??) and another starter? And they are still ranked #7?

We play Kansas in the Champions Classic this year in Atlanta on Tuesday. They lost their two best players Tyshawn Taylor and Thomas Robinson, but they bring back Center Jeff Withey who i really like and a pretty good recruiting class.

I dont know what twin big men you're thinking of, maybe the Morris twins Marcus and Markieff? They left in 2011

Ha ... yeah I got the Morris twins mixed up with Robinson. Damn these years go by fast.

  • I watched one of IU's exhibition games tonight and am finishing up watching one of Iowa's. IU looks a lot like last year. Fantastic athletes playing at a fast pace. Yogi Ferrel (sp?) is really good. Cody Zeller in the middle. Multiple very good 3-pt shooters. But still not the greatest team on defense. As for Iowa, they look really good. Woodbury and White make a very good front court and they still have May. Marble is athletic and can shoot. White can shoot. Balsabe (?) is very athletic and McCabe is another solid contributor. Looks like the B10 might be tougher top to bottom than last year.
