    Michigan wins 100-62.

I can't remember the last time I've them score 100. Nor can I even think of the last time. Against a bad team, but still.

    Fife

I like Fife as a CIW IMO. Local guy who I played against in some sports. Deep roots in Indiana too. Will be able to recruit well from jump street.

  • I took the family to the game last night. Crislet looks fantastic. It's warm and inviting, which is the absolute opposite of what it used to be. Not a bad crowd all things considered.

Hardaway was feelin it last night. My son and I wanted him to get a triple double but he didn't have enough dishes.

I like how Stauskas and Albrecht move.
I thought GRIII looked sluggish at times. He generates opportunities with his hustle, but he also had a few shots blocked and was beaten off the dribble while on D.
McGary could not get a ball to drop. He's a big body and moves pretty well but he's raw.
Trey had a productive night but nothing spectacular. He's smooth with the ball in his hands and makes it look effortless.
Morgan was the same ol same ol. He'll work as hard as anyone but he's not quite as talented.

We didn't look like the #5 team, that's for sure. We had some defensive breakdowns that led to easy baskets. We're also still a perimeter team, which I was hoping would change with GR and MM and a senior JM. That will improve as we get more experience but a cold night of shooting will be disastrous in the early part of the season.

Now I get the troops up and head back to A2 for the football game.

MSU won 110-68 last year against Nebraska-Omaha, 2 days after the B1G championship. The players tweeted about how pissed they were, and you could hear "f Wisconsin" from the student section lol

    Wow uconn is faaaast

UConn is evidence of what a load of bollocks preseason rankings are. I'll be shocked if they don't end up in the top 20 by year end.

For those with a short memory the 2011 UConn team was unranked in every preseason poll and finished #1.

  • Gardner showing why he was a 5* again this week. So smart at QB, big arm, athletic enough to escape but pass first.

It's nice Gardner is getting all these snaps at QB for next year, experience will pay dividends.

Doubtful. My close friend who is a Huskies die hard isn't too hopeful.

They are thin all over, and especially up front. If you can slow Napier they are a lackluster team.

Spartans just had a horrible start and couldn't overcome it. They play again and Spartans beat them handily IMO.

Agreed. UConn started hot and held off the spartans. Their lack of depth and no front court will kill them in Big East play.

Does it feel that way when he officiates or is there stats that shows he specifically blows the whistle against MSU more often?

Fwiw, for being told by MSU fans that Michigan fans blame the refs for everything, I have seen a crapload of Spartans doing just that this year.

Sounds like MSU is playing ugly early right now.

Jim Burr is flat out a bad referee with some extremely controversial finishes. Watch the video and watch the travel and toss out of bounds that happens right in front of him.

He was so bad the entire Big East made his crew sit for the rest of the Big East tournament: http://www.nypost.com/p/sports/college/basketball/big_east_made_referees_step_away_AxcjI61EbdktHP6gq2uILN

Even the head of NCAA officials found his performance unacceptable.

Here's another blown call Memphis vs. Arizona:

    http://espn.go.com/blog/collegebasketballnation/post/_/id/27152/final-collision-decides-memphis-arizona

In an MSU vs OSU game his calls heavily favored OSU something like 35-11. It was completely ridiculous and everyone was pissed off at the way he called the game. I remember watching it and there was contact allowed for OSU but against MSU he blew the whistle constantly. The guy had a great career but at this point he's had games that rivals the refs in the Packers vs. Seahawks.

You google his name and you will find a lot of fanbases in an uproar over the level of his officiating.

Rutgers vs St. Johns controversial ending ...

3/9/11 this is the controversial ending between Rutgers and St. Johns where the refs missed obvious calls terrible officiating. What do you think? I did not produce this video credit goes to ESPN. no copyright infringement intended

Only caught the last two minutes of the game. From what I saw losing Trice was huge. Basketball is extremely difficult to make up for an injured player. Last minutes having to rely on a freshman to be clutch was huge. I think w/Trice in it's a different story.

I don't know about the Spartans prospects I haven't paid much attention to them with football on and Michigan hoops to worry about. I know UCONN will struggle this year, they were probably just amped up 1st game with a new coach. Plus they have a few players from Germany I believe, they were probably extra jacked up also.

Ok, and none of that supports your claim that him reffing the game is a negative for MSU. UConn was the better team last night, nothing to do with the refs.

Also, he maybe a piss poor ref, but he is piss poor for all teams, this isn't a MSU only problem.

I think teams with NBA caliber guards do well in college. I think they'll be alright.

We will see. I'd bet they don't finish higher than 6th at best in the Big East.

No chance in hell they are top 20 at the end of the year.

Izzo said he might have had a severe concussion, not 100% sure yet. Valentine probably steps up in his place, he was in there to end the game, but made some bad freshman decisions.

    According to who?

Chad Ford doesn't have either Boatright or Napier on his top 100, and nbadraft.net doesn't have either getting drafted.

    Good guards. Lottery picks? lol
