  • Interesting take from UM beat writer. MSU is the biggest rival in basketball?

    Do you still consider OSU our biggest rival considering they have beat us in 9 of the last 10 football games, and in several important ones in basketball? I feel like a rivalry shouldn't be so one sided. Other than the history of hate and border battle what still fuels it today?

    Judging from players and UM fans, it seems Ohio State is still the football rival and MSU in basketball. The rivalries are what provide passion and make college sports great, as long as they remain civil.

    Meh, We're not their Rival. Especially in basketball. I can name two teams I'd rather beat then U of M in basketball immediately. This year I want to beat them because they're finally good. But a rivalry? Nah. Third or fourth in football, third at best in basketball.

    I'd agree with that. Then again with UM basketball being down for so long, that hasn't been much of a rivalry either until just recently.

You guys, and I mean you and cope specifically, seem truly invested in what happens at UM solely to downplay it for sometimes valid, but mostly absurd reasons.

    Yeah, it's what Due, and a bunch of guys say. Hey look, you don't have to justify your obsession to me. Whatever reason you come up with that you constantly go over there is only satisfying to you. We know, 1. Michigan peeps are obsessed with "little brother" - that's your cross to bare and 2. When called out on it, they'll say "I like the melt down" "I like the bitterness", I'm good with both reasons. I am also an addict. I remember having to come up with reasons I gambled.
