I disagree. If that's true, Kiel wouldn't commit in the first place. I don't think Morris would be afraid of Kiel, and I don't think Kiel would be afraid of Morris.

He does not have a point, because this site wasn't around last year. He can't use another board as evidence because this isn't that other board, and there are different posters here.

And I have noticed something, every time a expert says something positive about Michigan, I see quite a bit Sparties trying to claim that we are having "September Heismans" when I never see any actual Michigan fan posting such a thing (despite the horrible homers). What is the point of trying to put words in our mouths? To help prove a point? It just seems petty to me.

Point of my little "rant", just because some idiot on the TV says player X is in the running for Heisman, don't try to claim that we already gave him the trophy because its bullcrap and you know it.

Nobody has anointed Hoke anything except MSU fans. As far as I can tell, whenever a something positive about Michigan/Hoke is brought up, MSU posters take said positive statement and extrapolate it to "Hoke is the Savior, Michigan is back, etc." Then, the same MSU posters complain about the Michigan fans, who actually said nothing of the sort.

This guy sure thinks Hoke is the answer.

Michigan State had a great season last year, no doubt. And they could very well beat Michigan next year or the year after.

However, when talking long term success, I just do not see it for Michigan State.

With Michigan presumably returning to its past form under Hoke, I think the power of this conference will lie with UM, OSU, PSU, and Nebraska. These are traditional power house schools, that hold a national profile. Despite MSU's recent success, I do not think that it will carry over long term.

It is true that Hoke has not won a game yet for Michigan. But recruiting is the true life blood of every college football program. And I think it should really scare MSU fans that Hoke is recruiting his tail off right now. With Rodriguez gone, MSU will once again have to recruit the same group of players that Michigan has, and that could seriously affect its talent pool.

I hear MSU fans saying, well Michigan has always out recruited Michigan, but we beat them the past 3 years. Valid point. However, those classes ranked higher were comprised of Rodriguez type players not suited for this conference.

Now, when UM and MSU recruited the same type of player, pre-Rodriguez, Michigan constantly out recruited Michigan State, and dominated on the field as well.

Will it ever be back to how it was with the John L's and Bobby Williams' of the world? In my opinion, no, because Dantonio is too good a football coach. But Michigan State's window for success at the top of the conference is closing as it loses one recruiting battle after another to Michigan.

Will Michigan be at the top this year or next? probably not. But for the long term view of the B10, it will be those national programs that once again rise to the top, and that includes Michigan."

If you find that post to be so pro-Hoke/Michigan that it is offensive to your Spartan being, then I am sorry but you need to get thicker skin.

Umm, Quote me where I said I was offended by that post... I was just replying to your comment that no UM fan is saying Hoke is the answer.

I also agree, this thread was civil, and the debates were good until InTenSity came on the board with the sarcastic replies that doesn't contribute to this thread. Everyone else has been completely civil.
