247 should provide the name of who's voting for you be it +1 or -1. Who gives a fuck about the rankings really, but it's just the weasely nature of some anonymous hater hiding behind their keyboard doing it that blows. Man up and own your -1 bombing...I'm here to have fun and spread good karma.

Nice rhetoric, framing the issue so that any point contrary to your own assertion (that MSU's chances of winning have decreased) is "delusional".
Respectfully disagree with your comments.
My reasons for thinking MSU will be UM haven't changed. I never said I was expecting a blowout W for MSU, and the chances of such have certainly decreased.
I remain confident in Michigan State coming out the victor because UM "outperforming expectations" is based solely on your W over ND, something that Michigan did last season. From your actual play on the field, I see little difference between your team last year and this year, expect that Dennard has regressed as a passer and that your D is more aggressive. Even if Michigan has taken a step forward, and MSU a step backwards from 2010, I still believe that the Spartans remain the better team. Add in the fact that it's a home game for MSU (and Michigan's first 'true' road game, since @Northwestern will have half the stands Blue) and I don't see a reason, as of right now, to change my feelings on that game.
For those reason, I remain confident in an MSU victory on October 15. Of course, UM could win their next 3 games by an average of 42-3 and MSU could lose to CMU and tOSU. If that happens, then I'd revise my prediction.

If the chance of a MSU blowout has decreased, then the likelihood of a MSU victory has also decreased. If it's a close game, it can come down to a bounce or who has the ball last.
Michigan has also done better defensively than the last couple of years. They are 4th in points allowed in the B10. I don't think that has been the case at ANY POINT for the last 3 years.
Anywa, you are now saying that is more likely to be a close game which means more likely UM wins according to you. That is all I can hope to squeeze out of a Sparty at this point. A Sparty, that is, who thought MSU was a better team than ND before they played too.

That peterklima dude has issues. I think that guy only has that name to rip on MSU. Strange way to live life.
Don't get me wrong, I love throwing jabs at UM but at the end of the day I have to go to work and finish up school. Man... I almost feel bad for that guy.

Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.

I have about 100 posts, you have 1600. So you have more of a life outside a message board than me.
I am a Michigan fan, who occassionally has insightful things to post. I came to 247 when it began covering recruiting. I found out that UM has a board called RCMB that is full of any and every story about UM. I noticed a bunch of MSU posters there and I thought that was weird.
Now I like to post and refute ill-informed statements about UM, such as that they are clearly a worse team than MSU with worse talent. I think the two squads are about equal based on the early returns.

5) Your blitzes may have worked well in your eyes, but let's have a look at the data. UM has produced a total of 1.5 sacks in 3 games and a total of 12 TFL in 3 games (111th and 102nd nationally, respectively).
I agree that pressures/hurries can be just as good in forcing bad throws, but UM still ranks 92nd in passing efficiency D, allowing 2/3 of passes against you to be completed at a 7.64 YPA rate. Considering anything over 7 YPA is considered "good", UM's pass D could be considered "bad" at this point Keep in mind that this is after facing the weakest teams on your schedule.
Looking at MSU, having a veteran QB at home, with an extra week to prepare for UM should worry you.
In terms of all the different blitz packages, Mattison's strategy reminds me quite a bit of Pat Narduzzi's in 2009. He knew our coverage was not very good, so blitzed heavily, with the idea that if MSU sat in coverage they'd be picked apart anyways, so might as well try to force a TO, get a sack or force a bad throw. I think we're seeing something very similar play out with UM, and the data appears to be backing it up. Only difference is that your blitzes don't appear to actually be getting home, as indicated by low # of sacks, TFL and a high completion %/YPA and poor passing efficiency D #s.

Your Stats for Michigan don't inlude the Western Michigan game. Michigan actually has 3 sacks in 3 games, not sure on how many TFL. Opponents are completing 68% of their passes against us at a rate of 6.93 YPA if you include the Western Michigan game. Not sure where that would put Michigan in the rankings for Sacks, TFL's, and passining efficiency D but i thought i would just point it out that the stats you provided didn't include the Western game. I am guessing since the NCAA told Michigan that the stats wouldn't count that whatever site you are getting your info from isn't including the Western game in the stats.
