DISCLAIMER (so you don't miss it this time) : This is meant to show how flame wars get going, etc.
You think that I'M speculating? Did you read your post before you typed it?
Point by point
1) We agree your O is taking a step back
The rest? You accuse me of "pure speculation from a Spartan point of view". Sorry bud, you're the one looking at the world through Urine and Blue colored glasses (note to Ichabod: We often refer to the "Maize and Blue" as "Corn and Blue", "Piss and Blue", "Urine and Blue". Yet another hallmark of a good MSU-UM flame).
2) Jibreel Black: A true soph who saw time last year, true, but certainly didn't make a major impact. Note that I said "proven" DL, and a true soph with limited PT doesn't make him "proven".
3) Will Campbell: You admit he "isn't great" but "looks improved to you". If that isn't bias, I don't know what is. Fact: Will was overweight for his first 2 seasons and barely saw any PT after being your highest rated recruit in the past 4 classes. Again, he has not shown a single flash of brilliance in college.
4) Quintin Washington: someone you call a "Sleeper". How can someone be "proven" and a "Sleeper"? Again, that's your bias coming through.
5) Craig Roh: He will finally be used as he's supposed to be . . . . but since he hasn't been used like that yet, how can you be SURE that he'll make an impact?
Like I said, you lack proven performers on the DL. You came up with a young guy, a 5-star bust, a "sleepr" and dude who will be changing positions from an OLB to a DE. Good luck with that.

See Ichabod, this is classic sparty... They'll give you every conceivable rationalization why they think none of our players will improve YET They'll have you believe that despite losing 2 long time starting LBs, including a 2-time All America, the production at LB will only drop by roughly 10%.
(Keeping with the theme of providing Ichabod examples of our flame wars). Please hold for the forthcoming 500word retort from SR. Hahahaha

Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.

I'm good with ya. My honest opinion is that things will be rough this year for you guys, but I doubt you guys fail to qualify for a bowl. Should take a step forward in 2012. Major concern is the lack of a pro-style guy at QB, delaying the Borges offense emergence for several seasons; I know you have Bellomy and Gardner, but Gardner looked like a rougher passer than Denard in the spring and Bellomy is a true frosh. Lack of a proven RB could hurt, though Rawls could be the man, if not Hopkins.
2012 recruiting is great, but keep in mind that it usually takes at least a season for those guys to go from contributors to stars. MSU's best class was by far the 2009 class; our 2009 season was the worst under MD, as the freshmen made freshmen mistakes. Now this, their true JR/RS Soph season, MSU is feeling much better. I urge patience with this new class, because they aren't going to be able to do it all themselves in 2012.

When you say that Gardner looks rougher than Denard what are you basing this off of? Is it the spring game or have you seen video from spring practices? I just wonder where your opinion is coming from. You may be right but I don't think the Offense is going to change nearly as much as everybody thinks it will. I would think the only major thing they try to accomplish is to establish a running game other than Denard this year. If we can find a 1,000 yd back it will help this O greatly. That is a big if at this point but I find it hard to believe with all the backs we have, and the 2 coming in (Rawls and Hayes), we can find one that is at least sufficient. You guys have 3, maybe 4. Who knew you would have a monster in Bell? I think people are putting way to much emphasis on the swutch to a pro style offense before it actually happens for real. Just my guess though.

I mean, should we not wish we went to the rose bowl? Sucked to be in a 3 way tie with 2 teams that didnt beat you.
For the record which team did msu have a better chance of beating, bama or tcu?
To be honest, I dont see anything funny about your statement....
