looks like we're targeting another WR.. dear lord.

Why do you guys target so many WRs? I know stars aren't everything, but you have one transfer 4 star WR from the 2011 class, two 4 star 2012 WRs, and one 4 star 2014 wideout. How do your coaches get so many high profile WRs compared to getting high profile people on other positions on your team.

Odd. I thought it was going to be only one WR this cycle for MSU, and it was only going to be a top end 4* kid at that, a Treadwell/Burbridge type.

Kilgore was supposed to be it..

Then came Harris and now potentially Belfort..

Kilgore and Harris both got quick offers so obviously they think they're quality talent, but do we really need a 3rd WR in this class? Especially with getting Drake Harris in 2014 and looking at snodgrass for 2014 too

Maybe Lippett's moving back to CB and Fowler's foot is screwed?

State needs at least 3 OL and 2 DL in this class.

Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.

I don't know where you guys would look if Norman decides not to play CFB on the OL. Most of the OL prospects in the Midwest are already commited.

Sounds like Norman to track is pretty much a done deal. Pretty sure I read somewhere that schools have stopped recruiting him.

Nope, he's using the Rich Rod scheme and converting them all to the OL.

Schools have pretty much stopped recruiting Norman. He's going to play his SR year and then do whatever he wants to do. Unless a passion for football kindles inside him this fall, he's done.

So what to do on OL recruiting? Few thoughts:

Evan Jones, a 6'6 TE commit from the '12 class is probably going to end up at OT. That gives MSU 2 OTs and 2 OGs in the '12 class, which reduces the burden of having a large OL class in '13.

Work like hell and grab Finley from Cass Tech at OT.

I have no clue about the OGs out there. Keep an eye out at camps this summer and guys that develop this fall. Cross your fingers about Benenoch. Go the Iowa route and take some developmental guys. Good news is that MSU is looking fine on OG for the next few years, so any '13 kids won't be expected to see the field till '15 at the earliest.

Look out of state. Given Benenoch's saga, I think the coaches are unlikely to do this, and right now there really aren't many OL on the radar.

There are a lot of DL prospects still out there for MSU, so I'm less concerned about that. Definitely disappointed thus far on the OL front, but we're not even half-way to signing day. Lots can happen between now and then. Who knows, maybe someone fires their coach and State flips some commits or something.

Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.

On a side note, there may be some attrition that State fans don't know about. Our best current guess is between 15-16 commits, but if they're still recruiting WRs and at least 1 SS, it seems that either they've given up on a position (unlikely) or there are more scholarships available than we currently account for.

I just hope they don't have to go the JUCO route. Fonoti's great, but I hate seeing JUCO's on the OL.

Yep. No camps, no interviews and only talking to MSU coaches will do that to you. haha. hopefully he finds his love for the game again his SR season, because he seemed like he made the decision after track season

That's the only one listed. He most likely has other offers and other schools recruiting him. He does not give interviews or respond to inquiries (which is how recruiting services find out about offers).

It's also funny that people are complaining about some of the lack of board functionality problems right now and not getting banned. I thought that was a no questions asked banable offense?
