Yea, I don't think you need any lessons. 5 kids? Props to you man, I think any more than 3 would be too much for me to handle.

3 youngest are adopted, but it sure is fun practicing to make more. ;)

Well, if you don't have a good OL but it is a "favorable" match-up, then I guess we have a bad DL? Sorry, I'm just trying to get this all straight.

You putting words in my mouth yet again.

Our offensive line has strengths and weaknesses and your defensive line has strengths and weaknesses.

Your strengths are Martin and RVB, our strengths are inside with Foreman and McDonald. Your weaknesses are with your ends while our weaknesses are with our tackles. Am I wrong?

I think you mis-read what I said. I am a Michigan fan and was sticking up for Michigan.

Oh, sorry. I thought you were being facetious and saying Michigan fans were twisting the stats.

I wouldn't consider Craig Roh a weakness, Jibreel Black either for that matter.

My response was to "Victory for MSU", who did say your OL had a favorable match-up. It was not aimed at you. But, fine, OSU has a better defense than we have. Of course, you only scored 10 points against OSU. I never said we were going to hold you to 10 points and, in fact, predicted a few pages back that Michigan would win 31-20. That means I predicted you will score twice as many points against us as you did against OSU. I don't see how that is a crazy prediction and it is entirely consistent with your view that OSU's defense is better than ours.

20 points for MSU would be consistent, but is 31 points for UM consistent? That seems a little high for me, considering we gave that up once this season, and it required a special teams TD and an INT return to set up a FG.

Could you guys score 31? Absolutely; it's more likely that UM scores 31 than MSU. I think it's a bit high though.

Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.

I didn't put words in your mouth. I quoted you. You said your OL had a favorable match-up. Didn't you? Do I need to go back and copy the quote a second time?

yeah and that you give your guys more chances to make a play. Get a sack, Tip a pass, force a fumble, get a tackle for a loss.

yeah i don't know about the 2 long passes especially if its as windy as it is suppose to be. Maybe one short pass with a long run after catch and long pass. biggrin

A long pass is more likely than a catch and run . . . unless the field is still wet tomorrow. Then that makes it hard for the defender to make cuts (defender usually has to make sharper cuts on the pass routes, because they have to react to what the WR does since, you know, they're not psychic lol) and could lead to some major YAC for both teams. That could really favor Gallon and Keshawn martin.

Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.

I will give you that, i.e., 31 points against MSU seems high. But you gave up that many against the only top 50 offense you have faced so far. Maybe that was an aberration. Or maybe your defense is not as good as the stats show. Honestly, I could see either being true and that is what worries me the most. I really don't know what to make of your defense. If it is as good as advertised, the game could be very close and could swing on one or two key plays or turnovers. My prediction assumes that your defense is somewhat overrated, but I could be wrong.

I never said your line was bad, I said they have strengths and weaknesses. Our strengths (two all-B10 guards) match up favorably to your strengths (all-B10 DT Martin and RVB when he lines up inside).

I don't necessarily think one side is better than the other, but we will find out tomorrow.

I could see Gallon or Keshawn making a big play on a Wr Screen. I was just thinking the short throw with long run being in the mold of the ND game where Denard got outside the pocket and had the ND guy hanging all over him and he hit Hemingway in stride and he ran forever. Some sort of play where Denard gets out of the pocket and it turns into a playground play.

  • More facts...

Opponent Red Zone Scoring Percentage in ROAD games:

    Michigan = 80%

That doesn't sound too impressive. Where is the game at?

    NigelUno

  • Other fun facts:

Central Florida is second in the nation in total defense, giving up almost the same numbers of yards as MSU.

UCF's strength of schedule is #123, while MSU's SOS is #112.

So, do Spartan fans think UCF has a legit defense? Or is it unclear at this time?

Plus, Temple has the #8 total defense and the #93 SOS. Are they for real? Would they shut down Denard and co.?

9Michigan has the #39 total defense and played an #87 SOS.)

I think it is safe to say we don't know how good the MSU defense is this year. Saturday will be fun.

He's basically picking the line. My only reaction is that we've beaten the spread in every game this year by quite a bit except for one game (EMU, I think, where the spread was around 30 points and we only beat them by 28).

Actually, as I wrote above in response to one of Rocky's posts, I think it will come down to MSU's defense. Michigan has one of the best offenses in the conference if not the country and our defense is much improved over the last three years. MSU looks like it has a good defense, but has struggled to put points on the board. I don't see MSU ringing up a ton of points on us, so the question becomes how many points can we ring up on MSU. If we score in the high 20s or 30s, I'm pretty sure we will win. If it is more like the high teens or low 20s, it will be a very close game.

I think it is pretty accurate too.

I say overall a coin flip, but I think the home field, not special teams is the deciding factor that would cause a narrow MSU victory.

I don't really care what 16-17 year old kids do unless they said they are coming to Michigan State. Rocky or someone else would probably know more.

Edited to not sound like a douche.
