No worries man. I figured we have pretty much covered everything else involved with the up coming game. Well except the culinary aspect.

What's your choice of drink for watching the game? I'm going with Guinness and a lot of vodka if things get really ugly or really good.

Nope, that was Henne and Hart.

Wide outs were Mannningham and Arrington I believe.

Probably sweet tea. I have kids and think its poor form(unless no kids are around or on a vacation)to start at 11 am. Typically for night games though lately I've been on a corona and tequila kick. Love some blanco tequila.

  • Sorry for the absence (work ya know) I'm sure you missed me.

Anyways. Hoping for a great game tomorrow and I Hope old Blue brings in strong and has no injuries - I don't want any excuses when Sparty crushes your team for the forth year in a row. I must say that I'm actually surprised at how sparked this game is seeing that MSU is not a rivalry for UoM, although history shows that UoM has been fighting to undermine and subvert MSU since its very beginning. I've not been as excited for a game or as proud of my team in a number of years; and seeing that my wife and I have spent combined 18 years of study in East Lansing that is saying something. I'm quite happy that Pres Simon has finally focused the school's attention to the sports program's after a long period of marginalization by prior administrations, and that our teams seem to have stewards that understand the passion of the alumni and the importance of the students in the athletes. I'll tip my glass to a great game tomorrow and to aspirations to MSU's commitment to excellence.

Now, that being said, a question for you statisticians: what is the record between MSU and UoM when both teams with either (a) ranked in the top 25 at the time, or (b) played in a bowl game? UoM fans like to comment about the insignificance of the last three years since your team was "down". Yet you fail to mention that for the last two decades the powers that be at MSU remove significant attention and resources from the football program. So, let's compare the records when both schools had quality teams and I suspect that the record is far more competitive.

  • Gameday!

    Okay, prediction time:

After 4 quarters, my prediction is OVERTIME!! with a low score of 14-14 or something (revised in light of weather).

Who knows who will win from there, but I would think Sparty has a slight advantage in OT at home.

    ok,

"the Spartans held Thermopylae for three days and, although they were ultimately annihilated, they inflicted serious damage upon the Persian army, and most importantly delayed its progress to Athens, providing sufficient time for the city's evacuation to the island of Salamis. Though a clear defeat, Thermopylae served as a moral victory"

    Congrats on the moral victory.

Sparty doesn't care about victories (moral or otherwise) pre-WWII.

A few hundred fighting 'til the last man versus tens of thousands - I'll take that kind of commitment any day. They may have lost the battle but they won the war, and eventually drove the Persians out of Greece. Denard will have his little victories today, but the Spartan defense will push him back onto the bus to A2 sans Paul Bunyan.

Good luck today. Should be a great game.

  • I'm pretty calm right now. Not sure if that is good or bad. In basketball that usually means we have the better team going into battle. Hopefully that translates today.
