Is Michigan State better than Michigan this year? Well that is still to be determined. We beat ND and you lost to ND. We lost on the road to MSU. You lost on the Road to Nebraska. We will find out who the better team is this year in the next 4 weeks."

You really went back 12 days to find a post? How does your fanbase deal with you?

That's refreshing to hear for a change.

I think the only coach I don't like in the B1G is Bielema. Guy is a total jackass.

Yeah I think Bielema is the most hated coach in the B1G. I can just see it now if you guys beat them in Indy what he would say in his post game presser... "We just stubbed our toe on a neutral site."

Oh ok so your just trolling.. gotcha! More fuel for Nigel I guess.

I'm trolling? No, I'm responding to an argument made a few weeks back.

Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.

I'm becoming a fan of Kill, and I really hope that guy turns around Minnesota. I think their QB is going to be really good next year.

Yeah that program is going through some rough times.

I don't think Michigan gets Iowa's best punch. They are in total disarray (go watch Ferentz's press conference) and they weren't looking all that good even before the loss to Minny. And the last thing they are worried about right now is the BTCG. They need to win at least one more game to become bowl eligible, so yes, somewhere along the line they will come out fighting but it will not be this weekend.

    Bump. clap

I said 7-5 +/- 1 game this year. Anything above 8-4 or below 6-6 would be a surprise to me. No problem stating that.

That's why i said most of the Spartan fans. There were a few who said 7 or 8 wins.

So that means Michigan lost to the weaker of the 2 road teams it just played. Not sure that's an argument you want to make.

We are not arguing that Iowa is weaker. We are arguing that overall Iowa and Illinois are even.

Iowa and IL have the same W/L record. IL beat a 6-4 ASU team at home, Iowa lost to 5-4 Iowa State on the road.

Iowa has the better overall W, being UM. In Big 10 play, IL has beaten Northwestern by 3 and Indiana. Iowa has beaten Northwestern by 10, Indiana and Michigan.

Right now I'd say Iowa's slightly stronger than Illinois; at least they've won in the past month.

In any event, Michigan has beaten the teams it was supposed to beat for the most part, and won their toss-ups with ND and Northwestern. That gets you an 8-2 record right now, though don't be insulted if you don't get a ton of respect for your Big 10 wins thus far: Northwestern, Minnesota, Purdue and Illinois. UM's final 2 games will prove whether or not they're the product of a weak schedule.

One more thing. A few weeks back there was some debate on here about whether MSU or UM had the "better overall team" this season, even after MSU won head to head. There was a lot of stuff coming from the UM side about seeing how the rest of the season played out, especially as pertained to the Iowa game for both schools.

Can we put it to rest that MSU is a better team than UM this year? UM walks into Iowa and leaves with an 8 point loss; MSU, with a 16 point win. Add in the head-to-head W, MSU's subsequent win over Wisconsin and I think it's safe to say MSU has the better team.

No we still can't put it to rest. There are still games to play. Both teams are 8-2. You beat Iowa and we lost to them. We beat Notre Dame you lost to them by a lot. You beat us which gives you the slight edge now but there are still games to play. If we win out including a good bowl win and finish 11-2 and you guys lose say to NW, the CCG and your bowl then yeah i say we are the better team.

You said that 12 days ago, and the Iowa games have had no impact on your opinion (based on your response above)?

And, of course the strength of schedule doesn't impact your opinion either?

You are missing my point. I said now that I have you guys slightly better but there are still games to play. So yeah the Iowa game changed my opinion slightly because we now have equal records with you guys having the head to head so now i give you guys a slight edge but still think there are games to play that could swing it back in our favor.

The strength of schedule doesn't matter much now as ours will get much better after we play Nebraska. I am looking at an overall at the end of the season who is the better team thing. Can't really talk about strength of schedule until all games including the bowl game is played.

How is it not an argument when the Michigan fans seem to think they are equal and the MSU ones seem to think not. Seems like an argument to me.

You mean the Illinois = Iowa = Ohio State argument? That wasn't an argument.

Are you speaking for all Michigan fans? Do they all think that Illinois = Iowa = Ohio State? Somehow...I doubt it.

It's because we aren't equal. MSU is obviously the better team.

MSU has wins at OSU, Wisconsin, UM, and at Iowa

UM has wins over ND and Illinois

How is this even an argument?

I have said at this point yes but i can't undrestand why you guys don't get that there are still games to play and if you faulter down the stretch we could end up with a better season than you. Seriously, if we win out including a bowl we go 11-2. If you happen to falter against NW, lose CCG and a bowl game you would end up 9-5. Is it that crazy to consider an 11-2 team better than one that is 9-5? In that scenario we would have wins against Neb, ND, and NW all teams that you would have lost to. We would have a win against OSU just as you do. We would have a bowl win against a good team. All i am saying is that I am not ready to give up on this season yet. To many games left to be played.

Of course i don't speak for all Michigan fans but the ones in this thread seem to be saying that they think Illinois is just as good as Iowa and OSU this year. At least that's what i have been reading.

You realize that just for the fact that it's EXTREMELY more possible for you guys to falter than us means that we have played all our hard games and still have the same record means that we are the better team.
