Been playing a ton of courses up north (MI) the last few years on long weekend trips. I strongly recommend True North if you are anywhere near it, close to Boyne. Favorite MI course. Yet to play Arcadia Bluffs though, ive been told that may take the cake

Strongly recommend this list. Grew up by TC. Have businesses in Manistee Onekama and Ludington so I'm up there a bit. Do Arcadia. Stay a weeken at crystal too. Try the bear, it's ok.

My favorite time up there is late September with the colors and the fudgies back home. Nothing like a crisp autumn morning 18. Home by noon for a toddy and football on the tube if MSU is on the road.

  • Our fall trip is typically last weekend in sep, or 1st in oct. Doing garland this year. One of the guys in our group has a family cabin at crystal, so a weekend there, to include arcadia, is in the works for this summer or next spring. I wouldnt mind hijacking by talkin golf on here. The troll flare ups are out of hand at times. It gets difficult to talk um/msu sports. Id say we can all agree, Michigan (State of, had to clarify or im sure someone wouldve taken out of context) kicks serious ass.

Golf in northwest Michigan in late September early October is almost orgasmic. There I said it. The sight, the smells the weather the easy pace. With or without the wife. Mine was a high school state tennis finalist but she won't golf. However if you're near TC and they don't want to join you, there's plenty for them to do. A high school friend of mine has a condo on crystal Always a great weekend up there. Enjoy yourself this fall.

Yeah because not one of numbers 12-24 are better than numbers 1-11 or will do more in college or have a better career. Why? Because someone chose 1-11! Can't you see that logic? If any other scout says " gee I don't know, these kids are pretty damn good here" we'll just have to say no because, well, we've made a list!

I don't agree with your logic on this, but then again, that is par for the course with what you post lately.

Yeah... that's the case. Even though Michigan leads all 3 of the big sports series by a large margin... football, basketball, and hockey.

  • Any good courses around East, Southeast MI? I only get to play around there and don't get to around other ones that much.

Some of the better ones I have been to around here is Four Lakes, Black River, and Lakeview Hills. Avid golfer though, have around a 6 Handicap right now.

It doesn't matter what has happened recently or now, but what happened in 1910 when MSU wasn't a big ten school yet.

The Majestic at Lake Walden, just north of Hartland. 27 holes, if they are busy, and have you play 10-27, its a pontoon ride to your golf cart and start of your round.

That seems to be pretty balanced. It'll make for good competition... unlike when one team has a brutal schedule (Nebraska this year) or a very easy one (MSU in 2013-14).

You have to figure MSU makes the CCG at least once in '13 / '14. I also wonder if a squad like Iowa or even Northwestern sneaks into the CCG in '15 or '16 because the top teams are all beating on each other.

Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.

I'm tempted to ban him for repetitive realignment posting.

Nah. For all his faults, the guy is trying to talk college football and isn't trolling. There are some people who care about his topics... and many more that just enjoy making fun of him. He's cool by me.

I think if he can get Solgna Knowles to Tweet something, all would be forgiven.

    Things are slow right now.

Bruce Feldman on twitter said he’s writing an article about Gholston. Should be out by the end of this week IIRC.

I like having State at the front of the conference schedule in early October.

At first glance, I really like our 2015 schedule. 4 games, then a bye, then the home stretch. No Penn State. Seems to be a pretty balanced schedule, imo.
EDIT: The best part is, Wisconsin, Nebraska, and Ohio State are all home games. The bad part is, the following year, they're all on the road. I would have liked to have ONE of those switched up so it's not all or none each season.

MSU's schedule appears to be frighteningly front-loaded:
2015 vs Oregon and (presumably) Notre Dame in the pre-season followed by Michigan, @ Iowa, @ OSU, plus Nebraksa and Penn State in the next month.
2016 AT Alabama and ND again (presumably) followed by the same conference schedule.
