    What's the word out of your camp on Teller? Seems odd that he was a VT kid, then thought to be a UVA lean and now is very quiet?

    I think most of us (VT) were hoping to see him hold off until the season, and we are getting close to that now with HS camps opening soon

  • Are the Hoos thinking about doing away with all of the skill positions and replacing them with QBs now that they have 7?

  • Not Joe but Rocco has the spot going into camp and the only way Sims unseats him is if he can pick up enough of the offense that quickly. We run quite a bit of stuff at the line so it might take Sims some time to catch up on that. At least Rocco and Watford seem to be helping him out, but I think it would take quite a bit for Sims to take over just after fall practice.

  • What are Hoo thoughts on the PSU game and atmosphere? It will be their first game on the road...seems like it will be a strange event all the way around. I suppose we all know more about what to expect from the PSU team when we find out who they have left in the next 2 weeks.

    That's what makes recruiting impossible to predict. Last year we were convinced JC Coleman was favoring UVA and he committed to VT after one visit. We feel more confident about Smoke than Teller but nothing is a done deal until February!

    Who do you all like that is either at or committed to PSU?

    I think Rocco will probably get the early nod but I see Sims eventually getting the call. Rocco has come a long way for a guy that missed most of his Sr, HS season in a private school league. But Sims is just legit. Early reviews from throwing sessions are that he's every bit of what's been advertised.

    I'd personally give him the ball from Day 1. If you're going to struggle against Richmond knowing only 50% of the playbook, maybe Rocco is the better choice. I also think that the fact that he;s sat through two years of film study vs. Penn St and has prepared against every defensive coach they have will beneficial.

    Rocco's a team guy though. Either way, I think it benefits everyone. Well maybe not Watford if he's set on playing QB but we'll see. He can still do a lot of things too and a RS year could really benefit him as a player.

  • Thoughts on all above questions:

    I think Rocco starts the year, as much as I would love to see what Sims can do, I'm not sure he has enough time to unseat Rocco by Richmond. I can see it happening by Penn St/GT/TCU. The PSU game will be very interesting. There will be a lot of PSU fans from the DMV area coming down, and it could turn ugly as people drink more for tailgating. I honestly think we have a good chance of beating them, especially if Redd goes to USC.

    VT fans, what's up with Derrick Green. And are you guys pretty confident about Fuller's announcement on Sunday?

    Great idea on this board Joe, let's hope it can stay relatively civil.

    Apparently we have had 2 currents reach out to our coaches and have at least one recruit that we would be back in the mix with should they open back up. Our Mod only has us at about a 30% chance of landing one...I'm not expecting anything.

    Optimistic. I'll leave it at that. He'd be a perfect fit.

    For us too...I think his last 2 visits to VT were for the Clemson debacle and the rained out Spring game...I really want him to get up to another game before committing.

    We have a lot of depth at the QB position, no question about that.

    Not Joehoo , but London did say the Rocco will be the starter , if i were to guess I would say that Rocco plays the first half, if we have a comfortable lead Sims will come in and play the 2nd half, then all bets are off after that.

  • Oh there are Hoos here....we will be coming in droves! WAHOOOOOOOWAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!! And I think we beat PSU in a close one. I saw they return 3 starters on O and 4 on D...So to lose i would be a little dissapointed.

    Somebody do me a favor and hit xstokerx with an up vote. I down voted him by accident. I'd like to try and frown upon using those things here. I don't really care about them either way but some do and it can prevent conversation if they feel any slightly controversial thing they say is going to get them buried in red.
