How about playing in a NC game, winning a BCS bowl (hell, even going to a BCS bowl). Winning your conference 4 times in 9 years, 8 10-win seasons in a row, 20 straight bowl games. Winningest active coach in CFB. Are none of those claims to fame?

To be fair, you can also change the wording of your statement to something like this: You finally had a year where we straight up sucked. The year where we were worse than we had been in 20 years, and you STILL couldn't beat us...I'd say that's more discouraging for you than us.

Not really. I expeted to be right around .500 this year. A couple bounces here and there and that could have been a reality (if not better.) Unlike 2011, those didn't happen and we got what we got.

If you would have told me in August that we'd lose in Blackburg on a FG with :06 to go, I would have thought you were crazy. Afterall, this thread told me your running game was going to better without David Wilson.

For me this has always been a 4 year deal. A program that goes through a major shake up like what we did with Groh needs a good 4 years to recover. It had to be torn apart down to the foundation and built back up. A good year 4 gets you to year 5. A good year 5 while still still on a positive trend and you may have something solid. A bad year 5 and it may be time to get back to the drawing board. I personally feel like the staff changes are happening too soon. But hopefully they make some solid hires and that helps take advantage of the talent that's in the pipeline.

UVA Fans in terms of football have had no illusions of grandeur for quite some time. We do not claim to be elite nor have we been for a long time, if ever. You call UVA a dumpster fire, so ok you have beaten a dumpster fire for 9 years in a row. By your own admission what kind of accomplishment is that. I find it ironic that when UVA begins to win some recruiting battles that your fans declare that our staff must be cheating. Is it cheating when players are accused of rape and other criminal activities and yet they get to play? Is that cheating? Is it cheating when you pad your schedule for many years, even to the disgust of your own fans, in order to pad your record? Your schedule has been full of pasties for many years. It was an expressed strategy by your own athletic department. Now that your have began playing legitimate teams recently, you get your asses beat and embarrass yourselves. Now your remedy for this is to fire your entire staff, including Beamer, and accuse your rival of cheating. Was James Madison cheating? Was Pitt and Cincinnati cheating? The biggest cheaters of all had to be Stanford last year when they beat you like a drum on national television. Now the ACC is to weak for you, so it has to be the ACC's fault. So you petition your fans for a move to the SEC. Let me let you Hokies in on a little secret, you would be declaring every team in the SEC as cheaters because every one of them would beat you like a drum. Beat James Madison, then you can begin to think about Alabama.

They are all very good accomplishments I do not deny. You want credit for those things and you deserve it. However we as UVA fans have also had a lot of success, albeit not recently. Under George Welsh we felt the enthusiasm of being number one, going to bowl games year after year, BEATING TOP 5 TEAMS, and top 25 rankings year in and year out. During those years we had to contend with FSU when they were at the top of their game. You have not. We had to contend with the Mack Brown years at UNC, you have not. We had to overcome 21 of 22 losing seasons before the arrival of Welsh, you have not. I will recognize your accomplishments. You should also recognize ours.
