and you're wrong, they are not revenue generating sports.

Attached is the study by the NCAA to prove.

No one cares about Lax titles. Esp when there are only around 40 teams that play each year. Same with Women's Rowing (less than 30 teams).

Its easy to win a national title when there is no competition.

Nearly every top Lax player in the country plays in the ACC, Cuse, Princeton, or Hopkins...who we go through every year. There's nothing but competition on our schedule.

The ACC football roster may as well be IM teams in terms of level of competition.

  • Love the down votes since it is coming from the hoo nation. Which is pretty weak to say the most. The only reason the top ones play in the ACC is because thats the only confrence that will allow such a boring sport.

Not a sanctioned sport. That's basically a club team.

You can't argue sanctioned and non sanctioned if we can't argue rev vs non rev.

I'm guessing there are as many or more schools that compete in bass fishing as there are that compete in rowing and Lax.

HNB If this rivalry heats back up this thread will go absolutely of the charts. I know you enjoy your winning streak over UVA but it won't last forever. The talent level at UVA is improving. Many four stars coming into the program next year. I am looking forward to some great games in the future. In the meantime our basketball teams should add plenty of fuel to this board for the next few months. They are both looking good and a lot of young developing talent. Two good young coaches..

I have never thought it would last forever, and am surprised it has lasted this long, if only Frank treated Bowl games like he does beating UVA. I was on your board last time we lost to you, and we should have lost to you the year before that but the wind and cold killed Shaub and your passing game.

You all may be upgrading your talent but London is as good at managing RS as he is the clock so I just don't think you all are upgrading at the level you think you are. We are recruiting better than you all since London arrived and we are RS much better meaning that talent we are bringing in will be that much better with a 5th year vs your players freshmen years. Q Moore should have never been played this year, as I said on the first few pages, he also isn't a 3 or 4 year and done guy so he would have been a really good 5th year player. VT is widening the talent gap over UVA, we will have 6 top 250 or better players joining our D alone next year, 3 RS and 3 TFr, if the TFr don't RS.

I'll agree with you 100% on BBall, it is really good to watch these very good young coaches and their teams. I'm a huge fan of the way both guys are coaching to their talents, and coach to the talent they will be able to attract and keep, DL wasn't that guy much like London isn't. Our guys are playing with confidence they never did with Goon.

Boring? You must never have watched lacrosse before.

This is a silly argument. Hokies don't care about lacrosse because they don't field a team. But rationalizing it by saying there's no competition or because it's boring is ridiculous.

I argued against the silly non-rev argument, so i can. that's a silly comparison either way.

probably as many as lax because of the expense and it just recently seeing such growth outside of the NE.

It was intramurals. We had innertubes, and usually slammed a few beers and shots before hand. Also if your opponent was about to take a shot on the goal, you could grab the innertube and beat the living hell out of them with it. I assure you, we kept it on quite a redneck basis.

I also played that. I was a pro. Had a famous lob shot that the goalie just helplessly watched as it went over his head.

It was awesome seeing some freakish athletes lose all athletic ability once they hit the water.

That shit was a riot. Of course without the innertubes we would have had 2-3 drownings every game.

I don't see the talent gap widening. I think there is s good argument to be made for UVA as well. Your incoming class has talent particularly on defense. London has now put three top twenty five recruiting classes together and 2014 could be his best. His recruits need some time to mature. Remember CFB had some rocky times in the beginning.
