    It's the truth, hell my cousins are two of the biggest VT football fans in the world and both root for Duke in basketball. I have people that work for me that are big VT football fans and root for Duke and North Carolina in basketball, if you can't see that you are blind, I'm sure there are alot of people that can post the same thing.

    and I know multiple UVA alumni that don't even cheer for UVA in any sport..... I'm sure a lot of people can also post that same thing

    Because you have multiple area writers from around the state voting in the AP that's why you are getting votes, I don't care about being ranked until the end of the season, it's always Look at Us!! Look at Us!! with you guys why?

    You can't be afraid of competition. Coaching changes will occur in the off-season (correct, ours hasn't started yet) and depending on who we get I feel very confident that our product will be better. Will we be able to beat the big boys of the SEC-absolutely not but if improvements are made then competing in the SEC isn't out of the realm of reality, not to mention revenue would increase and the teams that would roll into Blacksburg makes for prime time entertainment. I rather fight to be bowl eligible in the SEC than to dominate (aside from this year) a horrible ACC. If you can't be .500 or above in this league then you have serious disfunction among your team/coaches.

    You would not even be bowl eligible most years if you were in the SEC. Your equals would be Kentucky and vandy. Cant see the Hokies competing with the top half of the SEC. in addition your fan base would be laughed at in the SEC. Tech's teams nor fans are SEC quality.

    Kentucky,Vandy, Miss St, Ole Miss, Tenn, VT would have plenty success against these teams from the get go. New conference leads to better recruits wanting to play in a premiere conference, and again I'll mention a different coaching staff compared to what we have now. VT is known for a rabid fan base, that by itself is SEC worthy. Championship/bowl attendance is down for everyone (unless your Bama,ND,Michigan,OSU). Economy has a lot to do with it (thanks Tugard).

    As for this year, folks aren't investing in the product until changes are made and this even started a several years ago with some. Once the proper changes are made then you'll see a rejuvenated fan base.

    Well I can tell you one thing since most of us agreed not to downvote and seeing that I woke up this morning and all my posts from last night were downvoted, And I don't want to hear the excuse anybody can look at these and downvote and not post, I will start downvoting anything I don't like starting today and ask that my fellow Hoo posters do the same.     There are people here lately that are likely not privy tot the no down vote rule
    They don't matter, if they did I would never post on your board, I'll take is as a badge of honor when I am #1 in the hall of shame on your board having never posted anything argumentative on your board.

  • IMO downvoting on this board will keep some people away as crazy as it sounds. There are people on The Grounds that go apeshit over a downvote. I support the no downvote rule because it can censor some posters true thoughts in their posts.

    Certainly not something to cry about but it is extremely weak.....along the lines of joking about what happened on 4-16 or how the uva lax player killed his girlfriend. None of these issues should be made fun of IMO.
