Guys I know we are here for football and giving each other hell and it's all fun and games. But I just wanna say one thing to all of you today we faced another tragedy in our schools and our youth was hurt and some did not make it. My heart goes out to all those family's and that community. I have a child in elementary school and hearing this it is just shocking. I know this may affect all of us differently but when you put your little ones to bed tonight don't forget to tell them that they are loved and that if something is bothering them they can talk to you as parents and friends. I know that this was done by an older man in his twenties but our kids are never to old to need someone to talk to. I hope all is well with your family's and please keep in mind that there are some people tonight that are without please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

I picked up my daughter today at my alma mater, Concord, as she has just completed her first semester of college. That in itself was just an off the charts weird thing for me. Then factoring in today's tragedy, it made the day surreal.
I have no idea what to think or feel. I felt kind of detached from the tragedy, and not as sad as I thought I should be. I felt kind of guilty for feeling that way. Then I saw interviews with parents and children from the school, and it broke my heart. I've not been the biggest Obama fan, but it tore my heart our watching him speak, and break down today. Given what those parents are going through tonight, I am just ashamed for everything in my life I have bitched and complained about. I got no problems, none. Pray for those folks, they need it.

I tried to avoid many of the news outlets because I didn't want to get wrapped up in all the fear mongering and soap boxing. I will pray for the families, the town, and those affected. There really is no way to completely protect ourselves and families from situations like this. Our best defense is to be good parents, friends, and family in hopes it will rub off and maybe keep one less nut job from trying to ruin the lives of others.
