    VT fans.. how is coleman and caleb doing, have you heard anything..?

    JC is what we (both) thought he would be, dedicated and a beast...I am curious to see how many carries he gets per game? My biggest worry is that we don't let our top 2 RB's get in a grove...but who are our top 2 RB's? Holmes and JC going in, but Mangus will have something to say about that...scary to have no one that is proven on the field, especially the blocking aspect.

    I don't know anything about Caleb but word is he is doing well...but they always say that

    Coleman had a great spring as the coaches loved how quickly he picked up the college game. Definitely one of the top newcomers. Haven't heard alot about Caleb, but I figure there is not a whole lot going on with the other freshman since they haven't started practice yet, so it's been pretty quiet with regards to their transition and workouts.

    What are Hoo thoughts on the PSU game and atmosphere? It will be their first game on the road...seems like it will be a strange event all the way around. I suppose we all know more about what to expect from the PSU team when we find out who they have left in the next 2 weeks.

    That game is going to be very interesting as far as the atmosphere, really not sure of what to expect. I think they bring a good crowd, because there will be people determined to show support fo PSU and that they are not going to quit on the team or the school. The question is, how long will that last, if they start losing players and games, I believe they will be lucky to fill half of their stadium by the end of this year or sooner. The years to come after this one is going to be interesting to see what happens.
    Their fans are going to live a hard life at games on the road, no matter where they go, and you know every time that they are going to be on TV, the media is going to keep reminding everyone about what happened at PSU as if anyone needs to be reminded. It is going to be a circus for at least this year, I would hate to be a part of that school or football team right now, it is going to be ugly ,IMO.

    Somebody do me a favor and hit xstokerx with an up vote. I down voted him by accident. I'd like to try and frown upon using those things here. I don't really care about them either way but some do and it can prevent conversation if they feel any slightly controversial thing they say is going to get them buried in red.

    I think I am a 4* because my first post on your board. It was when VT was rumored to be getting a site in 247, someone asked if Hokies would be coming around, I said only "na" and was instantly in your hall of shame...I suppose I earned it over the last 7-10 years....kind of liked it

    i dont see anyone transferring anytime soon.. you have to remember we had 3 qbs in the spring, thats it.. the rest were expecting to redshirt.. i could see rocco transferrring at the end of the year if he loses his job.. for that reason alone i dont see watford going anywhere or changing positions..

    Haven't heard of anyone transferring at this point , my guess is that some of those guys will be moved to other positions if they are willing to do that, but no transfer talk that I know of.
    Like webbi said, Rocco will be the one to watch if he loses the starting job.

    We have a lot of depth at the QB position, no question about that.

    And coming from where we've been at QB, that's a huge plus. One of the things that made the Welsh years successful was that we always had a pipeline of QB's who had been in the prohram for 3 years before starting. Majikowski, Secules, Moore, Blundin, Goodman, Willis, Groh, Sherman, Brooks, Ellis. That's 16 years of starters who were all guys that had extensive knowledge of the offense, opposing defenses and college life before starting a game. Contrast that to 2010 when we had one guy who'd played 5 games and nobody else that had ever taken a college snap, this is beautiful!

    Now we have a direct succession plan with some healthy competition mixed in. Sims/Rocco through 2014, Lambert/Johns for two more years after that. Marshall/Cutler to follow. And I'm sure Watford will have something to say about that first battle too. It'll take some ego massaging and there will probably be some attrition. But you can't build your program to where we want to take it without experiencing a little of that a long the way. Hell, Bama lost one of the top HS QB's in the country to transfer and they respond with, "Thanks for your time and contribuitions. Good luck. Next." I'd kill to react that way,

    Joel is busting ass, almost positive he will play this year. He is loving Blacksburg as well, been practicing with Logan.

    He will be the starter and it is his job to lose.. Kid is not a speedy guy or the biggest guy he just gets the job done.. He will surprise a lot of people.

    The blocking aspect is highly underrated. Especially if a teams OLine is a little suspect. Blocking has limited the snaps of some very talented backs here.

    I got to see him play several times in HS. You are right, he may not be the fastest guy out there, but he is shifty, has great balance and vision . He is more powerful than he looks too, and I might add, he had a heck of an offensive line in HS, but the kid can play, think you are right, he will surprise if he can stay healthy.

    LOL, not "could have" , it would have been brutal , the WVU halftime show would be "G" rated compared to what PSU would be getting !

    Yes they did, those were some big boys ! hell, I think I could have run through some of those hole at times, even after 5 knee surgeries ! LOL

    I said that every game I watched... When the ball was snapped looked like an asteroid hit the field with as big of holes as he had to fun through.
