How many coaches have left UVA for another job? The only one that comes to mind is Bruce Arena and that was to coach the Olympic team. Welsh was offered the job at Notre Dame before and chose to stay at UVA. Look at BOC how many jobs has he turned down? Sorry but Bennett is not going to leave.

No idea how many have left, gone, came, etc. One can argue that you guys have only had a select few if any "great" coaches on the hardwood.. Like I said if he is as great as the bball guru's are saying then he will not stay at UVA if a high end coaching vacancy opens up.

Why would he leave? uva can pay as much as any university in the country, Cville is one of the best places to live in the country, one of the nicest arenas in the country, an acedemic reputation that will always help recruiting, etc.... not to mention you do not know him, and what he values in a job. So you can not say with 100 percent certainity he would leave.

UVA values education first and foremost (which isn't a bad thing). Limited basketball tradition. Fan support- so so. Limited resources. Bennettt will have you in the hunt from time to time for the ACC title but that is his ceiling at UVA. Throw in an occasional NCAA appearance. So yes, if a big name school(which UVA isn't) comes for his service then he would be stupid to pass on. But you are correct I do not know Bennett personally but I do know Basketball.

So you are telling me if you worked for ABC computer company making 1.5 a year as a CEO and apple came to you and said we will pay you 1.5 a year to come be the CEO here you would leave? Some people like to build things their way not manage things built for them.

I honestly have no idea what I would do in this role play scenario. If Bennett wanted to establish his own legacy why didn't he stay at Washington State? (I believe that's where he came from, correct me if I'm wrong). But now a days people don't stay and build a program. Very few exceptions out there (Peterson at Boise St, Boehiem SU).
