  • By the way.. when posting on this board I have 2 rules I keep. 1) I never resort to name calling such as idiot, or retard. 2) I never downvote any hokie fan that post here. I will debate and stand my ground but any downvote you may have received on this thread has not come from me. I have also received hardly no downvotes from hokie posters here which is classy.

    Now back to next years hokie ass whooping....

    raleigh, my suggestion is you stop while you're behind. London went backwards this year and you know it. He hasn't a clue how to run a D-1 program. Maybe you can use actual facts next time around.

    I stand by my comments MM. I see a turning of the tide in recruiting. 2014 recruiting will be key to rather I am right or wrong. If things go well this could be a great recruiting class and UVA'S best ever. Combined with currently maturing young players and 2013 recruiting results I see a defining change coming to UVA'S football program. If London can't coach that group to compete then he will go. But, we are not close to that point.

    As far as London going backwards. Most UVA fans expected a step back this year. I did not expect a bowl type team. Any large scale senior leadership graduated the year before and even that was limited due to poor recruiting and player retention during the latter part of Grohs tenure. London showed that with upper class leadership that he could produce (ACC coach of the year, Peach Bowl). Talent is streaming in and it will provide experience and leadership in time. When that happens the "ass whoopings will commence".

    Yes, we are tired of the good ole boy coaching staff, especially on the offensive side of the ball-- that is why change is coming and if we get the guy I hope we get at OC then VT will be back to the nasty ground and pound that put VT on the map, not to mention the guy can recruit. VT football isn't going to stay down, recruiting has stayed the same if not slightly improved the past couple years (thanks Shane). Cornell Brown is down in the 757 now and early implications are very positive. If I was buying stock I would go in for at least 50 shares on VT football since the price is low, but there is a great change the ship gets back on the right track.

  • Vt is changing the sidevofvthe ball holding it back, if the new staff is as good as history says, VT will be at least an ACC dominant team again. It is a miracle that VT was able win as much w that clown O staff as it was.

    VT has its best 2 recruiting classes ever the last 2 years...not sure how any rational person can call that a pending decline. UVA has yet to prove it is worth any consideration as anything our that a bad program in a bad conf. And your 14 class won't be your 14 class until London keeps his job after next year...the class w no recruits in it.

    Your own fan base has blamed some of this years performance on not recruiting the type of players that brought past success. They have called your current crop of players soft. You have put together two nice recruiting classes but you know that previously recruiting had taken a hit. It appears that Beamer has lost some if his fire and has an excuse for everything. Beamerball has been dead for a while. And yes UVA is gaining ground on tech talent wise. That coupled with beamers apparent lack of fire bodes well for UVA.

    raleigh...when you start replying to your own posts, it's an indication you're reaching. Don't fret though, in 3 to 4 months, it'll be peak season for hoo football fans when the spring game rolls around where you and the other 900 fans sit and watch the game proclaiming "this is our year!!".

    No, its because those sports dont matter. We have a better wrestling program, our T&F finished top 10 nationally, girls volleyball has owned UVA. But again, these are sports that dont matter (to those whose school has a football program) so we dont need to crow about it.

    Love this line. You UVA fans truly are so blinded that you can't see the similarities. London is Al Groh, just got bad quicker.

    You do realize that Al Groh was fired 2 years after being named ACC COY correct? Both were identical seasons, filled with luck, and crappy teams, sandwiched by horrendous 4-8 seasons.

    So it's tough for you to sit here and say London is a good coach, but Groh wasn't, when their careers are damn near identical, production wise. Groh could just recruit a lot better to start.

    I personally don't want Beamer fired, and very few do, we just want changes on O which were getting. Unlike UVA, we don't accept a 7-6 season, and sure as hell wouldn't accept 4-8 seasons.
