Tenuta couldn't beat the worst OL coach we've ever had, he sure as hell won't beat the next one.
Tenuta is pure garbage, I love that hire for y'all. Only thing to improve it would be if you added Amato too.

LOL at you thinking Tenuta is garbage you sound scared to me. They put his stats above against you guys, his D allowed over 400 yards 1 time in his GT years against VT. One of VT's best years in 2007 his D didn't allow 300 yards. As his defense cauesed 7 turnovers as well in 4 years.

Actually I got the 2007 total offense wrong in my first post. VT had 481 yards of total offense. The 296 was passing yards.
Our offense was ranked #64 in 04, #50 in 05, #100 in 06, and #100 in 2007. Our offense this year was better than the offenses in 2006 and 2007. He's a mediocre defensive coordinator that gave up an average of 407 yards of offense and 27 points to terrible VT offenses.

He won't even answer when the Hoos have even been in big games, let alone won a game that is bigger than any of the 27 he likes to post about....
And you do know that London did ask a recruit why he would want to play for an old white guy? I don't have a problem with him trying to be funny and hip to a player, but do it with a kid that isn't leaning away from you already. So when your admin has to have a coach for your coach that is an old white guys...that's funny. there is simply no way anyone on either side can't think so, it isn't insulting, it's just funny.
Your Admin clearly hired a guy that it will be 100% comfortable letting coach should you all start slow and need to make a change mid season next year. That is smart IMO.

HNB with all due respect, that old white guy comment came from 5284 and hasn't been confirmed he also claimed it upset Corey Marshall the player in question. Which for us to be his second choice he must have been pretty tore up about the comment. It just doesn't add up. Not that it matters in the first place.
I wish the season was upon us already, so you and the other Hokies that think it's going to be all doom and gloom for the Hoo's this year can be proven wrong.

Glad to know that the defensive coordinator that has one win over Virginia Tech in the last decade and your new half a million dollar tight ends coach () is going to put us under.

Hmm: First 3 years coaching at UVA Mike London 16-21 at VT Frank Beamer 11-22. In this day and age Frank wouldn't have even been coaching a 4th season at VT after that record in his first 3 years.
All London has to do is win 6 games this upcoming season and he gains again on Frank after 4 seasons. And then only has to win 7 games the next two seasons combined to match how many Frank won in his 5th and 6th seasons in Blacksburg.
My point is London isn't as bad as you guys make him out to be and if message boards were around from 1986-1993 there would be nobody on your message boards. VT also lost 5 of 6 to UVA in Franks first 6 years. So if we want to do comparisons let's do them with real facts at the same stage in each coaches career at the schools.

There is a big difference in the programs. First of all, UVa is in the ACC, and whether people admit it our not, that still does mean something. The money in recruiting is different, and the perception of UVa over VT at that time was different. UVa, when London took over, was not very good, but it is still in the ACC where talent was in the program. So, there is no comparison between the two programs from UVa three years ago to VT 24 years ago. UVa did have talent when London took over, hence your season in 2011. Sorry to say this Hoos, but TOB was brought in to take over and make sure London is not screwing up games and blaming other coaches like he did this year. I bet we see a much more toned down sideline demeanor now. I wonder who the players will look to when things start going bad...London or TOB? You really should think about this too...this was in no way a London hire. I cant even start to think how you guys think you are close to us in football. It would be like us saying we are close to you in baseball. It is not true...just because there is a competitive game here or there, does not make you close. No flame at all, just my opinion.

After reading some of the back story on the hiring of TOB, London actually went out of his way twice driving down to Raleigh in the fist two weeks and taking TOB and his wife out to dinner to discuss ways that they could get him to come back to UVA right after he was fired by NC State. It isn't going to take TOB to make London tone down his sideline demeanor as that has been a topic of discussion at VAF fundraising meetings I've attend since the loss to VT and London was at two of the fundraising events that I attended. So after reading into how this all went down, I think he had more say in the hires than I previously thought he did. Now I'm sure Jon Oliver had to agree with who he wanted to hire to make it happen. You don't throw out the kind of money UVA did for it's football coaching staff yesterday without the AD's or for that matter the top donors in the VAF's approval. I didn't take your post as flaming at all, I thought it was a great post of your opinion.

Well, I appreciate you insight into the hiring process. I stand corrected. I will say this, TOB can make Virginia an annual contender, not a power. I think he is a VERY good hire for UVA, but I still think your head coach will get in the way. Now, in a perfect world, and I think a lot of UVa fans would say this because a buddy of mine who is a big UVa fan has already stated, if they could switch the two in their positions, most would be thrilled. TOB is a good coach.
