The Rams have played this beautifully....

  • Of course they lucked out with Griffin being 6'2.75 and whatnot but they now have a bidding war totally started and it's not even out of February right now. They may show up to RGIII's Junior day to cheer him on haha.

I think with Bradford, Coach Fisher, and now probably Blackmon, and a couple other players/picks they will make a turnaround next year.

  • They need to bail on those uni's and go back to the old LA Rams colors!

  • Would anyone consider taking him and trading him for offensive linemen and a receiver? Bradford needs help at both.

  • With the timing I think the Rams might end up getting pick 4 or 6 along with a young starting OL and a young starter on defense (not a star, but good) from someone.

    fsufsu

  • Not a rams fan, but if I where them I would much rather have Morris Claiborne then Justin Blackman at that 4 spot. You don’t draft WR’s that high unless they have Megatron, AJ. Julio or Moss Ability. JB is going to be good but he’s ceiling is the Hakeem Nicks, Roddy White class of receivers who IMO aren’t top 10 material.

  • I hear ya but Bradford is their huge investment and he's throwing to chop liver right now. Gotta take Blackmon who is better than Dez Bryant.

Which is why I think they should take the boat load of picks that idiot Snyder going to offer. Blackmon at 6 is still not good but a little easier to swallow, plus with the other picks they can re-stock on potential and depth and hope to hit a home run with one of them. I would much rather see, RG3 with the Dolphins or the Browns tho. He’s going to be set up for failure in Washington.

  • I get what you're saying, but the only thing the Rams did right was letting their intentions leak. Imo, they'll get Cleveland's #4, #22, and 1st round pick next year. That's the basement for the trade.

  • You mean the hakeem nicks thats had 75 catches 1000 yds and 7 tds two years in a row and who averaged 7 catches 111 yds and 1 td a game in their playoff run, that hakeem nicks? If the rams can get that from JB theyll be ecstatic. They need some Ol help and some help on defense but with gregg williams they dont need to do a heck of a lot. The saints did ok on defense and they didnt have star talent there. Granted it helps when you can just outscore everyone with your offense though.

  • haha yeah. Blackmon will be a beast in the NFL. He was a three star recruit who worked his way to excellence.

    fsufsu

  • Pretty sure Cleveland is just going to bend over and let St. Louis take everything they've got for the #2.

I believe Nicks is a very good player but he’s not a game changer like a Megatron is. Those Giants revivers definitely feed off of each other as a group, and I don’t think they would individually be as successful if they played on a team like the Ram’s with no surrounding talent whatsoever. You can get guys like Floyd or Criner (sp?), later in the 1st and the 2nd who talent wise IMO are not that big of a drop from JB, and provide much greater value.

Blackman is definitely the better prospect but Criner is a big sleeper in my IMO. An underrated athlete with great ball skills, who use to always bail out the very overrated Nick Foles. Value wise Criner in the 2nd is a way better value the JB in the top 10.

  • Miami and Seattle aren't legit contenders for the pick. It's down to Washington and Cleveland, and if Washington should sign Manning, St. Louis won't have the same leverage over Cleveland as they would with both teams driving the price up.

All of the above per Clayton on ESPN this morning FWIW

As a dolphins fan would love to have RGIII, but we don't have what it takes to make the deal happen IMO...so I would agree with him at least on that point

  • How much do you think the pick will cost? Logic would say the package will look like the NY Giants-Eli Manning deal with San Diego, no? Considering the demand for him will be so high, they may even get more. I can see the Skins giving up the next decade of picks for him since they never do anything right.

Everybody knows the Indianapolis Colts will part ways with the legendary Peyton Manning this year and draft Andrew Luck and logic would dictate the St. Lou

I have a feeling that the NYJ are going to sign Manning. I don’t think Peyton and Shann can co-exist and he doesn’t really fit what they like to do offensively. With the Jet’s Peyton’s going to have free reign to do w/e he wants. Plus that’s a win now team, and Rex doesn’t have time to see if Sanchez ever get’s “it”.

    They arent getting 3 #1's... IMO they will get 2 #1's a 2nd and MAYBE a 3rd

  • i dont know how much of it is actually the Rams. They are just lucky to be in a good spot. Griffin wowing everyone and some of the worst run franchises doing the bidding for the pick. Only way it would be better for them is if Al Davis was still around and wanting the pick.

  • If the Redskins get Manning the Rams are screwed and will have to take Blackmon at #2 since there would be no reason for the Browns to trade up.

  • Shooot, Bradford hasn't been that impressive. Obviously they dont give up on himnow, but many around here(STL) are kind of done with him and wished they would have taken Suh

I’m biased because I’m rooting for him to succeed (I’m Native American BTW), but I think it’s too early and you guys have too much invested in him to give up on him now. He always going to be limited by his durability and arm strength but he has great accuracy which is something that can’t be taught. Most QB’s would struggle with that horrible offensive line and lack of playmakers on Offense.

  • Based on Jimmy Johnson's draft slot formula. That pick is normally worth the same points as Cleveland's two first round picks and their third.

It'd take Washington giving up 3 first round picks if one is the 6th overall.

However, I think that becasue there will be so many bidders, the Rams will get more than 2 first and a third.
