Why can't it be? In some weird way, it wrapped things up. Rick found out what happened to Morgan and Duane, and realized that he can't save everyone. He's got an I Am Legend routine going on now, and short of dying, I don't see anyone convincing him to do otherwise.

Yeah it definitely *can be* the end with him, I'm just inclined to believe that it isn't. You're right though there is some closure in case we don't see him again.

I definitely see it possibly swinging either way. He really goes off the deep end or it was a "character fixing" episode. The pensive look Rick gives at the end of the episode makes it hard to tell.

That was an awesome episode. Had a season 1 feel for me, which is my favorite season so far. Love the mass zomie killing, but I like this type of episode better.
The hitch hiker thing kind of bugged me. Not that they left him, because at this point who do you trust. What bugs me is that this guy survived the whole time up until now, then gets housed walking on the road. If the guy has survived this long he's smart enough not to become a road buffet.
I did love how they looted his pack though.
