Bell was an underrated OL prospect that looks great on film. Coker was the top QB in the state of Bama that year and started in the Bama vs Miss All-Star game and passed on Bama for FSU.

Bell has potential, will it be reached is yet to be determined... Coker is talented but wasn't in a offense to show his talents..

Who was the RB from the area back in the day that signed with Auburn, but had the injury big and never could overcome it?

Personally I don't think Mobile is real important for Auburn. Historically we have never won down there that often. Georgia west of Atlanta is where we have to keep staying. I expect Craig to be able to start changing Mobile around for us a little. Bama will still get the better most likely. FSU and Auburn will compete for second. With Craig now being at Auburn we have a better chance for sure. Mobile just is more bama fans than most places in Alabama IMO. Going to be very interesting for Williams though. I don't know where he is leaning but I know he was liking Auburn with our last staff and he had a close bond with Craig at FSU.

There is no doubt that Atlanta is huge, and moreso by the year as the talent continues to ascend.

Maybe I just see it that way because bama has always dominated the Mobile area and when Auburn is doing well it's when we are recruiting the area between Auburn and Atlanta very well. Auburn's success is due to that area mostly. Mobile we get a few out of and trust me I would love to be able to really compete down there but I don't think it means a whole lot to us. I think it does mean more to bama. With Craig now at Auburn hopefully I will begin to see the talent that can come out of that area though.

I had heard this argument made of the Mobile area when Tommy Tuberville was at Auburn, which he had very good success at building the AU program. I really believe that Craig will get AU back into a competitive position again soon in the Mobile area.
