The most important 2012 recruit for your team...

  • Miami - Any elite DT. Goldman would be great.

Auburn - Current commit - Zeke Pike, not just ability, but leadership and recruiting other prospects.

Wish list - Peat or Alexander

Yeah, Pike seems to be really spearheading Auburn's recruiting efforts. Prospects turning into recruiters is one of the most underrated aspects of recruiting in general. That sometimes is bigger than many would imagine.

Hopefully Zach Kline develops. His skill set is absurd. Shaq Thompson could play five different positions and be a difference maker at every one.

For Cal, my personal opinion, is getting Shaq Thompson back in the boat.

Pretty much this for Cal...Although OT is a huge need for us this year. We need at least 4-5 quality OL this year so:

    Murphy
    Banner
    Garnett
    Magnusen
    Tagaloa
    Andrews
    Simmons

I think we get 2 maybe 3 of those guys..

Same thing for Clemson. That or a big OT.

Yeah, it sure does look like it. Hoke is doing some great work at UM. Out of that list here's where I think they go:

    Murphy - Stanford
    Banner - UW, Cal, USC
    Garnett - UW, Cal, UO
    Magnusen - Michigan
    Tagaloa - Cal
Andrews - Cal (sleeper OT who will blow up this year)
    Simmons - Cal, USC, UO

No, seriously man, he rolls in it all the time. You heard it here first, I'm puting him at 80% SC as of right NOW.

I'm already sending him nasty emails pretending to be Todd just to keep Neb at bay.

  • Well seeings Richrod did not feel it important to recruit the DT position the ast couple years...I think Ondre Pipkins is HUUUGE for Michigan or any of the other TOp DT's we are in on

  • Eddie Goldman, Justin Shanks, Jonathan Taylor, or ANY other big-time interior defensive lineman.

Next would probably be T.J. Yeldon.

Not only because Dyer will need a successor, but because it would be a nice land from a top in-state recruit. I think it's important for the Auburn staff to continue to get at least a close split with Saban on in-state talent.

Caleb Peterson or another quality offensive lineman would be nice too.

And last, maybe current commit Ricardo Louis. Losing Antonio Goodwin and Shaun Kitchens really hurt our future WR depth.

This. Second would be any blue chip CB, although we already have a few committed.

  • Malcom Brown(Brenham) Not our highest rated, but def a position of need.

  • As the previous PSU poster said, it is Spence and Reeves. Personally, I think Reeves is the bigger get as there is an immediate need for DB's after this coming season. We have some depth at WDE with Massarro (who may get a 6th year at some point), CJ Olaniyan and Barnes (also Stanley, but he will only have one year left after this year). That is really the only reason why I think Spence is #2. It would still be huge to get the #1 guy in PA to PSU. That hasn't happened since Jared Odrick back in... 2006? And, of course, Spence is considered the better prospect overall.

  • For Miami, Goldman and Diggs are definitely the most important from a talent standpoint, but Deon Bush is also vital because from knowing him personally, I know that he is VERY close with kids like Tracey Howard (GATOR), Ricardo Louis, Herb Waters, James Burgess, and many others down here in south florida. A commitment from Deon when we have Duke Johnson, Keith Brown, Ereck Flowers, Angelo Jean-Louis, etc. also in kids' ears down here is a big thing. Plus, Deon is at a position of HUGE need for Miami.

I can see the argument for Bush definitely.

  • Your Miami duo is the same for Maryland. In terms of the statement each prospect would make in terms of MDs recruiting efforts I would have to put Diggs 1, being that hes from Good Counsel, and then Goldman 2, Noah Spence would probably be 3.

Any of those 3 would be a huge splash for Edsall in his first class and easily the best prospect MD has signed in years. Plus if you get Diggs on board youll have him and Madaras from Good Counsel so who knows how much that helps with guys like Watson and Wes Brown.
