The one thing we know for sure about the next debate...

  • Biden vs. Ryan is gonna be pure comedic gold.

    Mr Giggles181090

  • Am I wrong or will Ryan likely tear him apart too?

  • Biden is a gaffe-machine as a VP, but he is a great debater.

Most people won't watch, but this debate will be better than the last one.

Ryan and Biden will both bring it. Should be good.

It's almost, in a small way, like both presidents are the front men types. Kinda the "face guys" and their VPs bring the heat informationally. Ryan isnt my favorite but that guy is a hell of a debater.

  • Ryan is going to absolutely kill Biden. Biden is nothing but a mud slinger, Ryan is a highly intelligent policy wonk.

    Mr Giggles181090

  • Let's not give Ryan too much credit he will have help. I'm sure he'll use public roads and bridges to get there.

Doing a little better today. Last night it was hard to listen to Romney trying to come off as a friend to the middle class and poor, almost had a heart attack right there.

  • Lets be honest people. Turd Sandwich or Douchebag? You've got the master liar in Romney and the universal divider. The rich white CEO vs the rich black ivy leaguer. You've got one guy that can't stay on point (Romney) or give you facts (Romney again) versus a guy that distorts facts and has failed on everyone of his campaign promises (Obama; yes I voted Obama last time, but I can't this time).

I will say right now Paul Ryan is probably the strongest candidate of the 4 men involved in debate in terms of shear political skill and knowledge. Biden is a gaffe machine and is catching up to Dick Cheney on my most hated list (but he's still miles away). The problem this country has is you don't have the Clinton-Gingrich combination. You don't have what Reagan had with the Democratic Speaker in the 80s. There's no togetherness and no middle ground. A lot of that is due to Obama's huge sweeping acts and the Tea Parties rise to power. Both did more harm to America than anyone not named Dubbya, Carter, or Hoover ever did to America.

  • Plus one. Makes me think we will have to get away from a two party system at some point to get progress.

Hard to believe but you liberals are making the same mistake you made in 1980. You painted a picture that ronald reagan was an old bitter man who wanted to start WW3. All he had to do to win the debates was show America that was a lie. You guys are doing the same thing with rommney saying he only cares about the rich. Its a big fat fastball down the middle of the plate. Liberals only have smear campaigns. You can't debate ideas cuz your ideas suck.

  • Yep, Ryan is great at explaining the most complicated situation and also coming up with the correct solution…

You never know what will come out of Biden's mouth….usually doesn't make sense and certainly won't help the falling Obama camp at this point.

It's past time to have two businessmen running the country. Balance the budget just as we are expected to do with our personal finances.

Yes he will….and I can't wait to see Saturday Night Live after this one….Does anyone remember the skit on Ross P. and his running mate….what was his name??? General something or another????

True. People expect Ryan to just kill Biden, and like you said, Biden is a gaffe-machine

But, Biden is a great debater, and I believe people will be surpised. My guess would be a very even debate, with an even bigger debate afterwards as to who won.

  • lestat is very correct, IMO. I'm a democrat, but I can feel this race getting closer. One negative compared to 4 years ago for Obama that people don't mention is there is not Palin to hurt Romney in battleground states. Palin may have been well liked by the far right, but the undecideds and middle line folks hated her.

Still think Obama wins and I won't be voting for Romney, but haven't decided to vote for Obama either honestly.

  • Ryan seems like a guy that can really enamor people the same way Obama did in 08'. I think America is going to love this guy and really get behind Romney because of Ryan. My opinion is that I'm not a big fan of Romney or Obama. I don't think that either one of them are the one to get this country back on track. I will be voting for Romney because Obama had his chance to do better for us and he failed miserably. I wish the American people would stand up for once and fire everyone on capital hill. They are employed by us. We have the power to do so, we just don't get off of our lazy asses and do anything more than vote every 4 years.

You are right…one of the biggest problems is the lack of terms limits for the Congress and Senate. They are always working to keep their jobs, not necessarily to help the country. Usually, the Pres doesn't do too much his first four years…and then his second term (if elected) doesn't have to be so accountable… Also, the Pres usually spends 1/3 of his time of vacations (on our dime-example: Obaba in Hawaii$$$$$$) 1/3 of his time actually working, and the last 1/3 running for re-election.

    Sad system….

I see both of your points. I agree with FL Buck that no one votes for someone based on the VP, but you can lose votes based on your running mate, IMO.

The number 2 can swing votes. I know several core conservatives that voted for Obama simply because of Palin. Also Edwards was exposed as a dilettante lightweight and completely out of his depth by Cheney in their debate. That swung many undecideds.

Similar situation with Ryan v Biden IMO. If Ryan shits the bed it will hurt Romney, but if he holds his own no one will care. If Biden gets crushed it will not hurt Obama. Biden is a known commodity. Anyone that doesn't know he shoots from the hip and steps on his dick (a lot) won't be watching the debate anyway.
