  • Saban is already at a 6* program. If he were to leave for anywhere it would be back to the NFL.

Lulz at Bama fans, Texas is ridiculous with the amount of money they could put on the table against Bama. I think they make $30mil more than Bama and I could see them going up to 15m or so if they really want him. He is the greatest college coach of all time IMO. Also it would be awesome if the highest paid coach of any sport on any level was a CFB coach.

And yet they stayed hitched to that skeleton they have....

Read an article the other day... He is planning on retiring in 7 years....where that number comes from I have no clue. Buckle up!! It's gonna be a minute.

Gotta say...I don't like the sound of that one bit.

He could have rings on both fingers when he's done.

It's not how much $ a program makes overall. It's how much a program is willing to pay and the one thing I can promise is no program right now in college football will pay a coach $10 million dollars. Alabama can match anything Texas offers!

Yep, the highest paid NFL coach only makes $8 mill a year.

People that think a college would put up $10 mill are crazy.

You don't have to pay players in College (well not as much)
$140-150mil that Texas makes go into the program and they have a lot of upside on what they spend.
Their boosters are disappointed with what they are doing ATM and will offer what ever it takes to start winning again. IMO that will include a bidding war on Saban, it's not if but when.

Saban will not leave Bama for a college program. You might as well get that idea out of your head.

Anyone else think Saban would leave for Texas?

I could see them throwing him 10mil a year and he would be closer to more talent.

Alabama would match 10 milllion and it's not like he has any trouble recruiting at Bama.

Say Texas did offer 10 million......bama would match it and more.

Besides if their boosters were serious....they would have gotten rid of Brown 2 years ago.

  • Texas can hire a number of coaches that could win at Texas for less than Saban makes if they'ed grow balls and fire brown

Alabama is the most profitable athletic dept in college athletics, if its about money they want be beat. UT brings in more, but Bama makes more.

now, one day he may decide he wants to leave but it want be about money.

Every time Im in Tuscaloosa, Im reminded of what a gorgeous campus Alabama has. It truly looks like a postcard Chris Low

Not more talent per square mile. Not even close. Alabama, Mississippi, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana combined are about the size of Texas and combined have far more talent.

I'm not going to defend the "want" vs "won't" usage (can't), but he was right on the profitable part. I don't know if there is anything for 2011-2012 yet.

Alabama's recruiting class > maybe best ever

They will probably finish #1 in recruiting yet again with the addition of Foster. And if they lock up Vanderdoes tomorrow that's just not fair lol.

I think the only way Alabama falls from grace is if Saban leaves, and I don't see that happening anytime in the foreseeable future.

At this point Alabama could get another good coach and keep rolling like LSU did. Lots of coaches would love to come in and coach all te talent he will leave.

I saw the recent figures, and Texas was out in front. Also, what kind of an idiot is this? Who doesn't know the difference between "want" and "won't?"

That would make him go to Texas then IMO. Why do the same thing at Bama that he could do at Texas for half the money? Just curious. No flame.

Then let me educate you. Alabama now has the Top 2 coaches with National Championships. Bear Bryant with 6 and Nick Saban with 4. It is about tradition and doing it at the same school the best did it at. Class dismissed..

Saban is in the Southeast, theres no better talent than that... Florida and Georgia are all you need for talent.
