The state of Cali is out of their mind

  • Wanting to Tax for driving your car.

GPS devices would record mileage and charge drivers accordingly.

I doubt this would ever pass, but you never know.

    California Proposes Tax On Driving

A California transportation agency recently proposed what could become the most unpopular tax of all time: A tax for simply driving your car.

The congestion charge has actually reduced traffic in London considerably.

Ok? Those two aren't used to reduce congestion, by the way. Those are to produce revenue to maintain the roads.

  • California's biggest fvcking problem property taxes and prop 13. If they just fixed that alone, revenue for the state would increase dramatically. As it stands, that fiscally retarded policy literally has bankrupted the state.

All these other idiotic proposals are band-aids for the mess caused by prop 13.

The recession only exacerbated Cali's problems. It's not that big of a deal when everything was great. Ish got twice as bad after, though.

Cali needs to redo its state constitution because it is outdated as hell and it holding back a state that literally has unlimited economic and social potential.

Even Slate agrees with you. That should tell everyone how dumb an idea this is.

Lebron James will never be as good as Michael Jordan, thus we should get rid of his nickname, "The King".

That's the biggest thing about these municipal bankrupticies, it's a combination or ridiculous investments, ridiculous union contracts, and the recession (except Jefferson County in Alabama; they got effed by some Wall Street crooks).

How there haven't been more bankrupticies is amazing.

California's biggest problem is gerrymandering which has all but guaranteed that the same idiots get elected over and over.

Prop 13 wasn't an issue until the greedy unions and tree huggers drove any and all industry from California. There are no major tax bases now that Ford, GM, MDD, Lockheed, Hughes, and all of the small companies that supported them were driven away in the '70s and '80s.

Toss in a few million illegals to take all the middle class worker's jobs add a democratic state house to spend billions supporting their offspring and you end up where California is now.

Globalization has a huge effect on everyone. Poor timing for Prop 13.
