Just got my offer at a large KC firm. It's rough out there though. Half of my class doesn't have paying offers, and I go to a top-20 school.

    are you graduating this year?

University of Oklahoma: B.S. Aerospace Engineering '10, M.S. Mechanical Engineering '12

    That s**t cray.

Although, I think it's kind of telling that lestat thinks college transcripts reveal where a student is from or how they paid for school. Clearly somebody never made it past a high school diploma...

I'm in my 3rd year of law school right now, that's the top-20 school I was referring to. I work part-time for my firm's St. Louis office, and I'll be working full time for the KC office come next May.

EDIT: I worded that poorly. Undergrad at Cornell, Law school at Wash. U. in St. Louis. That should clear things up.

College transcripts just show the classes you took and what you scored in them, correct?

If he wanted something to complain about, it would be the financial aid documents.

Yep. Transcripts are nothing more than classes and grades.

I was told to apply to Washington in St. Louis, but I know I can't get in and it's too far away. People that I talk to think I can get into all the Ivy league schools and shit because I have the academics to get into Cornell, gets annoying after awhile.

Well fuck I plan on going to Morritz. Son-of-a-censored

It's bad. I might be relocating to the Cleveland area at some point, and I've already interviewed there a little bit, and it's pretty ugly. You've got a huge push from the T20 out into non-traditional markets - not everybody's going to NYC or Chicago anymore. The former OSU advantage of being the best law school in the state is rapidly disappearing.

not sure if you've heard of the online group 'Anonymous' but apparently they've hacked into the records and have Romney's tax returns for the past several years and plan to release them in the coming weeks

at least I've read that, I hope it's true b/c I'd love to see him respond to that...

    Respond to what?

Not to really discourage you or anything, but I've been advocating Top-25-or-nothing recently, and I think that's the only way to go now. The glut of unemployed lawyers is just too large, and the industry is changing. It's just not worth the investment to go to a lower-ranked school, especially if you're going on loans. Even full scholarships might not be worth your time at some places.

In all seriousness though, I am a font of advice when it comes to law schools. If you want to talk about it, just let me know. There are a million and a half things I could tell you that I wish I had known before applying.

It's true. There's been a huge backlash against grade inflation since Harvard started getting a reputation for inflation. Professors are harsh as shit, and they often don't give a damn about your GPA, they'll give you the grade you deserve.

Thank you! I'll definitely hit you up. I have a couple of people, but you can never have to many resources. The main reason I chose OSU in the first place. Well that and football tickets.

    obviously? I've been voting republican since I was 18..just b/c I don't care much for Romney/Ryan i'm a liberal?

Romney getting elected directly affects my job and my livelihood...he is going to downsize the workforce in the military and wants to cut pay by 20%...that's part of his plan, why would I agree with that ever with any candidate?

    You are completely retarded.
