Also. Why did the Lakers keep that name after leaving minnesota? Doesnt really apply or fit in LA IMO.

They got the original Tommy Trojan uniform from the Ben Hur set (Chalrton Heston wore it in the chariot race) and it's just stuck. A rider name Richard Saukko was chosen to represent TT and his horse Traveler was named after the horse Robert E Lee rode in the Civil War.
So it's like most historically inacurate Hollywood movies. The myth becomes the legend.
