Oregon doesnt really have any traditions. The mascot is about it. (A handshake deal with Disney to be able to use Donald Duck)
The thing about that is, the money lovers at Oregon hate that the Ducks are represented by Donald, since they are mostly forbidden to use his likeness on your typical crap for sale like shirts and hats. So every couple of years they try to come up with something new to stick on the gear, usually to laughable effect. (Google RoboDuck, Oregon if you need a chuckle on how pathetic they can get.)
