This is why the Washington Redskins drive me nuts

  • One of the reasons anyways

What do the Colts do for Luck ? they grab all kinds of weapons for him just like they did for Manning, great weapons that puts him in a position to succeed

What do the Skins do ? draft project OL and trade other picks away for picks they will trade away at a even later date

Im so freaking tired of this damn franchise, watching all these other teams makes moves I like just drives me crazy and it happens every year

We are solid at making a splash early on ( Taylor, Orakpo, Kerrigan, Bailey and so on ) but overall we are so bad on draft days that is insane how after 20 something years we haven't figured it out yet

Not since Gibbs first run with Bethard running the show have we done well in terms of finding players that can play

Who knows though, I barely paid attention last year so maybe RG3 gets us closer than I realize

  • Meh, I think Shanny knows what he's doing in the draft. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt, his track record is pretty good. This is only his second draft with the Skins. Last year they moved around and picked up a bunch of picks and landed an all-star (Kerrigan) and some starters in the middle rounds. He's got his second round pick, Jenkins, coming back from injury after missing the entire season, and Hankerson, his 3rd round pick, missed most of the season.

They got some WRs in free agency. Helu and Royster are pretty good RBs. I'd like them to resign Hightower though. They're set at TE. They picked up some DB help in free agency as well. They desperately need bodies on the OL. I'm not sure about the LeRibeus pick today, I think it was a reach. Hopefully he'll be a solid player.

    What else?

Yeah they're stacked now. They're going to have to get rid of some of these guys.

    Armstrong
    Austin

    Gaffney
    Garcon
    Hankerson
    Morgan
    Moss
    Paul

  • Yeah you will have to excuse me Butte, I literally don't even follow the Skins anymore and hardly know the depth chart

I can't even tell you how happy it makes me to have a QB that I want to watch, I might have watched a few series last year and that is how its been since Taylor died I think

I just play with them in Madden now, and Taylor is alive and I made him a 99.... he dominates

I'll take Garcon, Hankerson, Morgan, and Moss. We could use another weapon there. Maybe one of the young guys will step up.

Garcon is really good, pumped about him

He is my kind of WR

I still love Moss but damn I wish he was still 25

Yeah things haven't been the same since Taylor died, I feel you. WR needs some fine tuning. There is some talent on the roster now with the Garcon and Morgan acquisitions but they need somebody else to step up or get a sleeper in the draft. The OL needs help and if they invest there it will only make RG3 better. They were desperately thin at OL last season because of injuries, and we definitely don't want that again this year. I'm excited about RG3, I really think the Skins are closer to putting it together than you think.

It sucks that Moss, a stand-up guy, was stuck on those terrible Skins teams. He deserves to get those years back.

  • By the way, Lamar Miller is still available.

    buttesnake

  • Skins messed up not getting Lamar Miller in the 3rd. He was right there for the taking. Can you imagine a QB/RB combo in the NFL with that speed? Dayyyum.

Colts are definitely giving Luck weapons baby. Fleener and Allen were the two best TE's in the draft and the damn Colts got both of them. Then the sneaky bastards go get TY Hilton, who is a straight up BALLER! Luck got 3 legit playmakers to play pitch and catch with.

I think they can still get Miller. The teams ahead of them in the 4th round aren't looking for a RB. We'll see. I think the Skins need help in other areas, I don't think they'll take Miller.

  • 'Skins can do damage right now as it stands.

If RG3 doesnt turn the ball over, they are a playoff team.

I like your optimism. The defense is nice (the front 7 at least). We'll see about the secondary. It needs work.

The 'Skins were probably the worst team, or close to it, in turnover ratio.

The team that shoots themselves in the foot the least amount of times, has a good shot to win the NFC east. I know that sounds real cliche, but it happens alot in that division.

The Cowboys stay hurt or self destruct, the Giants rely on Eli too much too often at times, the Eagles/'Skins give the ball away like candy.

The division is there for the taking, imo.

True, they can still get him as they have two 4th round picks tomorrow, but I don't know, I think I'd rather have Miller than the guy they picked in the 3rd and if I am the Redskins I am trying to get RGIII as much weapons as possible to help him out, like the Colts. Colts weren't play around day one. They are getting Andrew Luck some nice toys to play with.

They could very well still land Miller. I hope for RGIII's sake they do, I would love to see RGIII succeed and Miller would be a great weapon. Wonder what made him slip so far. He has pretty nice size at 5-11 and 212 pounds, and his speed is off the charts. I think he is going to wind up being better than quite a few of the RB's that went ahead of him. shrug

Now you're making me really want the Skins to take him. As long as one of their picks in the 4th is an OL, that's cool.

if you have never seen him play, hit up youtube. His speed reminds me of Denard. He hits 0-60 like...BAM! and he eats up yardage like crazy. It's funny. He is seriously fast as hell. I think he'd be a great fit in the Skins offense as well. He seems like a one cut and go back. He actually doesn't seem very shifty or like slippery to me. To me it looks like he sees a hole, makes a cut, hits the hole at full speed and he is gone. His burst is amazing.

That's a fit for what Shanny wants in a RB.
