Try this. Go back to that AC unit and measure the vents. It looks like from leg to leg its 9.5 vents or maybe 10.5 vents.

On aside note,I just came out of a 7 -11 and walked thru a freshly spun Spider web across my face. I may have stroked out, the people behind me thought I was having a seizure!

This is the answer. Even if it's 2-3 inches off, there should not be a spider that big anywhere in north america.
