Three new Five-Stars

  • Johnson sure made a huge move over the last couple months. Hope we can reel him in.

JC - I know tight ends in general just aren't 5* worthy for the most part...but is there a chance Breneman becomes a 5* by NSD?

Jake Raulerson doesn't need a fifth star. He needs an asterisk that notes "*will kick your ass repeatedly."

More like an asterisk that notes "this kid has no position at the next level"

He already has the size to play DE, it's whether Texas wants him on OL or not. He could be a similar player to Jon Jansen who came in at Michigan as a 230 TE and ended up as a 290 OL by his senior season. He has the frame to gain enough weight to be an extremely athletic OT, he will be a very good player no matter what side of the ball he plays.

  • [yawn] Oh and now that that's done, maybe you guys can get around to doing important things, like making sure all of Penn State's players are ranked, and ranked highly, dang it. crackwhip

Actually he doesn't have the frame to gain enough weight for the o-line, he's pretty much filled out already. He also won't sniff the field at DE playing behind guys like Hassan Ridgeway, Shiro Davis, Daeshon Hall, heck even Bryce Cotrell.

He's within striking distance. We are extremely high on him.

I think he would have a shot at starting from Day 1 at Clemson.

  • WHAT!? Shane Morris doesn't have his 5th star yet? What the H-E-double hockey sticks, man! He was the 6th best QB at the Elite 11 camp and has immeasurable leadership skills, for Chrisakes!

Great athlete and it's possible. Right now, we have him behind Adam B. by a good distance, though.

Not sure if serious, he is 6-5 260, he can add another 20 pounds easy.

What did you have Kyle Rudolph ranked coming out of HS? How does Breneman compare to Rudolph?

How can I not be? It's an abomination that he doesn't have that 5th star yet! I mean, come on! His junior year, he completed 52% of his passes for 1,683 yards. Those are X-Box numbers if I ever saw them!

We had Kyle as a five-star at Rivals.com when I worked there. Kyle's advantage would be he was a little bigger than Adam. Nothing more really, though. Adam is probably a tad more polished as a receiver.

Good stuff should be interesting to see how Matthew Thomas handles his recruitment seems like he changes his mind every week but that is to be expected I guess. Either way whoever gets him is going to be very happy.

I think it will be interesting to see where Thomas' body goes in future years. I have little doubt he will get to 225-230 in pretty short order in a college S&C program with a nutritionist. After that point, I think it will be interesting to see if he gets into that 245 range. I think he will retain quickness and speed - he pushes through the ground well and will only get stronger.

I really think there are three TE prospects that have the ability to make jumps in the coming months, and he is at the top or right there with Ricky Seals-Jones - even though I like Seals-Jones as a WDE long term in terms of maximizing his vast and versatile ability.

OJ Howard might be a third - of the guys so far.
