Its all guard play now. There are no great big men, outside of Dwight.

Yeh he was also in his 30's while playing with LBJ. Snow used to be decent, by the time the King came along he wasn't very good.

Im not really comparing their skills, because LBJ just simply does stuff the Kobe never could do on the basketball court.

Their skill sets arent actually comparable, but LBJ definitely is the better all around player.

Offensively, though, he cant mess with Kobe just yet, in terms of having a full arsenal of moves.

It's still a little too early to have this debate, but I'll throw out my two cents. Kobe and Duncan have very different resumes, so which is better kind of depends on what you value most.

If you judge a player based on the numbers they put up, Kobe is your man. The dude is obsessed with making sure everyone knows he's 'the man' and has imposed his will on the league for years.

If you care more about style and circumstances, Duncan is better. His numbers are marginally weaker, but he never gave two craps about them to begin with. He has also been one of the best leaders in the game, whereas Kobe has developed a reputation of being a semi-cancer that the Lakers organization has had to tip-toe around. Duncan's team has always been successful, no matter who the Spurs surrounded him with, while Kobe can only succeed when placed next to elite bigmen.

In the end, Kobe is generally favored by casual fans, who love the points he puts up and ignore his warts. More hardcore fans seem to prefer Duncan, because he was just as successful while not having any major flaws. He is most well-rounded and fundamentally sound superstar the league has ever seen. Duncan > Kobe
