Tim Tebow

  • The guy is going to have the best season for a QB right? ESPN sure is blowing him hard enough for it to happen. I don't mind Tebow and honestly think he has handled this all very well with class. I think he personally is a great guy and I kind of feel bad for him. But saying all of that is anyone sick and tired of hearing about a guy that will probably only play 20 snaps at most?

I don't have a problem with him but I've never remember talking about someone so much that is non significant.

  • ESPN sucks. I only watch it when a game is on. PTI is the only good show on there. I uses to think it's not Tim's fault that they hype him up so much. Then he went on the ESPYs so maybe he does kind of fuel it on. More power to him, a football career can end in the blink of an eye. Get it in while you can.

Thank ESPN for that, they b*tch an moan cause people talk about Tebow all the time but they are always talkin about him. I think he is talked about so much because so many people wanna see him fail, they want so bad for him to slip up and do something out of character. And I think alot of people cant stand the fact that he seems so soft off the field, but on the field he is a animal

  • guy is a great guy but at this point he is only an average at best NFL QB - he can always improve over the next couple of years

I'm blaming ESPN. I stated multiple times I don't have a problem with him. I have a problem with ESPN hyping up someone that isn't a huge factor in a game.

  • ESPN needs to let things play out, they are way over playing his story,
every time you turn on the network he is the subject of talks
I mean everyone keeps talkin about him running in the rain with his shirt off.
    I mean is that news?

    Let the guy be
    Let him play football
    ESPN is getting real annoying

  • I love the kid...in a sport filled with druggies, woman beaters, thugs and ne'er do wells, he's a breath of fresh air. I prefer Troy Polamalu's quiet piety, but you can't fault a kid as a genuine good guy, and great competitor like TT.

I hope he shuts up the critics who dog him for his on the field play. Just win Tim, just win.

  • I think Tebow is a good guy, but he is destined to fail:

    1) NY media will chastize him if he wins, or if he loses.
    2) Every team's fans always LOVE the 2nd string QB, then he plays bad once and they crucify him and wonder why the mgmt even thought of him as a viable option.
    3) ESPN has to promote the Jets or Patriots. It's just the same in baseball with Yankees and Red Sox. They are a regional network who occasionally covers other areas. Given this, they are the same as #1 above.
    4) Tebow himself has said: "You know, I have heard the doubters since I was in high school.." (that he wasn't a QB). Well, Tim, if you didn't keep doing the media interviews and saying these things, then people would forget that you really AREN'T a QB. People can accept a ho-hum NFL player if he just shows up and goes to work. When you are an average NFL player and talk like you are some martyr of football, people will relish when you fail.
    5) It is the Jets.

No, not mad at all. Many of these points were brought up about ESPN in a previous thread and some herein.
The Tebow issue has been discussed QUITE a bit and it's just wash, rinse, repeat at this point.
The Jets, well, we all know they are the Jets. They have a history of failing, ya know.

I didn't think anything that I said hasn't already been confirmed by many others already.

  • ESPN is definately doing him no favors. just let him play the game and dont talk about him til he doesn something noteworthy. theres a friggin article on the NFL page on ESPN talking about how he threw a touchdown. who cares thats what hes supposed to do.

i dont give a damn about tebow and the jets. im so tired of hearing about the Pats and Jets. if you dont live in the north east you dont care about these teams. ESPN needs to get the memo. not everyone cares about the Pats, Jets, Yankees, or Red sox

  • No Flame, honestly, but what is your opinions on what McElroy is thinking about now?

I would think that he is hoping Tebow can win the job and send Sanchez packing.

Interesting angle there. I am not sure that McElroy is too well received already. I think he is just positioning himself to follow after his dad, and if he gets some NFL player salary in the meantime, that is just bonus.

If I were McElroy, I would definitely want Sanchez out because he is sitting pretty with Tebow as the #1 QB.

That was my thinking as well. I am a Tebow fan and want nothing more for him than to prove everyone wrong, but first bad game and the NY Media and Fans are going to lynchmob and Ryan will not have much wiggle room with him. Tebow is really in a No win situation IYAM. Sad for him, he is a top notch Human being and I wished more people, not just athletes, would follow his lead, irregardless of Religious convictions. ...I wonder what the Jonas Brothers and Tim Tebow have in common. Oh right, they're all very marketable to parents and children.
