Time to admit the SEC is best, haters.

  • I revised this a bit to include the total amount of good teams in each conference.

The SEC has Bama, LSU, Georgia, South Carolina, Florida, and Mississippi St... The rest are middle of the pack. Thats SIX quality teams. I think A&M is a decent team, beating Arkansas 58-10 doesnt mean alot now...(Arkansas is having the biggest collapse Ive ever seen), but they only lost to an undefeated UF team 20-17.
SEC:Bama, LSU, Georgia, USCe, UF, MSU, A&M - 7 teams

ACC - FSU is the only team any good at all. Virginia Tech sucks, Georgia Tech just got curb stomped by MTSU. Miami lost to KState 52-13. Clemson is very mediocre , why people think they have a good offense is beyond me. They suck.
    ACC - FSU, Maybe Clemson - 1 1/2 teams(Clemson = half)

Pac12 - They have Oregon which is fast, but against quick teams they dont look good. They can run up the score on slower teams because they just cant catch them but what happens when they run into a decent defense? USC sucks... End of story. The rest of the conference isnt worth the time it takes to type their names.
Pac12 - Oregon, USC -2 teams even though USC is on the edge

Big 12 - all Texas, and Texas isnt that great. Oklahoma was way overrated. Ive almost forgot this conference existed. Edit:Ill give the B12 West Virginia even though they need to play a team with a defense. I believe they play Texas next week so that could be interesting. I might also give you KState
B12 - Texas, WVU, KState, (TCU and OU are 1/2 so 1 total for both) - 4 teams

B1G - LOL , Michigan, MSU, and Wisky are laughable. OSU is decent but they arent eligible and theyve played NOONE. Nebby is decent.
    B10- OSU - 1 team

ON A SIDE NOTE, why do people only talk about the good teams having weak schedules? Look at all these Pac/Big 10/12 teams schedules .. Who do they play? Oregon, USC, ND, Texas,FSU...noone, stop complaining about schedules. Look at some of these SEC schedules there might be 1 or 2 cupcakes but the rest consists of quality teams that present a big challenge week in and week out.

Bottom line, you say the SEC is overrated... Who is better? Theres 1, maybe 2 teams in every other conference thats any good. The SEC has more good teams then every other major conference combined.

STFU and get over it the SEC > whatever conference you are from.

Don't you love how that works?

He also still thinks Nebraska is in the Big 12.

LSU has looked straight bad the last 2 weeks.

Mississippi State? You serious right now?

This guy obviously has no idea what he is talking about, and is just trolling. We'll see how this troll goes, though.

What about the Big East? West Virginia looked pretty good yesterday. lol

I don't think anyone has argued that the SEC is the best conference. You are dumb.

Dumb thread but the SEC isn't overrated. It's clearly the best conference in America.

If the top teams didn't avoid each other, we would know that for a fact. Meanwhile, Bama avoids UGA, USC and Florida.

Its just stupid. Top teams play the weak teams from the other division to boost its rankings. In the Big 12, everybody plays everybody. That is what makes the SOS strong.

Exactly. SEC has some very good teams. So does the Pac 12 and Big 12. With the top teams in the SEC avoiding each other, its tough to really judge how good they really are.

I'm just confused what any fan can do about their team's conference size and scheduling?

This year will happen once very eight or so (I think) when it comes to SEC scheduling, but personally I know most fans want nine games, not eight.

Just like we were the first conference with a championship game, we were the first to 14. It's going to come to the other conferences eventually and they will have scheduling problems as well.

Bama's not avoiding anyone. The only reason we aren't playing GA this year is because of the additions of Missouri and A&M. We played SC twice in the last 4 years and Florida each of the last 4 years.

That's not how it works. Bama didn't schedule their East opponents. We were supposed to play UGA but Mizzou/A&M coming in screwed everything up and we had to switch UGA for Mizzou.

It just happened to work out that we missed UGA, Florida, and USCe this season. LSU plays USCe and Florida though. We'll play the best the East has to offer if we make it to ATL and we'll have to face LSU and MSU.

Anyways, the Big 12 is good but still the 2nd best conference.

Ask yourself why did the SEC water down their conference by adding two lackluster teams? At least the Big 12 filled the vacancies with teams that were far better than the teams that left. Missouri will be a shadow of its admittedly mediocre self in the SEC. They lost their access to Texas recruits when they left. Same thing happened to Nebraska.

And there you go. The conference is watered down, making the good match ups practically end. A lot of bad/below average/average teams in the conference this year.

    Ole Miss
    Miss. St.
    Auburn
    Kentucky
    Vanderbilt
    Tennessee
    A&M
    Missouri
    Arkansas

That is well over half the conference right there.

    Then you have...

    UGA
    Bama
    LSU(although they haven't looked great)
    Florida
    USC

5 good teams. LSU does play USC and Florida this season, but avoids UGA. Bama avoids UGA, USC, and Florida. UGA plays Ole Miss, Auburn and Missouri from the west. Gauntlet right there.

The conference was really watered down by going to 14. I hate the format. 12 should be the max, IMO. ACC made the same mistake, and REALLY watered down the conference with Pitt and Syracuse. Boy, I can't wait for that Pitt vs. FSU game in Pittsburgh with 20,000 fans in the stands.

The PAC 12 doesn't compare to the SEC. They have Oregon and that's it as far as legit contenders. USC was obviously overrated, Stanford just lost to Washington...a team LSU beat by 38. Oregon State and UCLA would get rolled by any of the top 5 SEC teams (Bama, LSU, UGA, USCe, Florida) and Miss State would play toe to toe with them.

Avoid is not a good word to use. You're making it sound like Alabama didn't want to play any of those teams. When the conference is on a rotating schedule games aren't going to happen.
