Jack LB that does the same as a WDE....
The 3-4 has primarily become a recruiting tool, you can sell WDE and OLB's on two different positions that they both will be playing... plus it has a catchy name and WDE like to think they are some special player that does everything on a D. Plus you can also sell a 3 technique DT that he's playing DE. Conjures up great images in these kids minds.
The truth is they're only special players if they become special players.

A true WDE doesn't drop back in coverage l lot. The Jack must have that ability as well.
