To people that believe Manti Te'o...

  • Te'o said he met this girl once at Stanford. His father Brian said he met her in Hawaii also...Te'o obviously had to get this girls number or twitter or something, how is it that he ended up talking to a dude if he actually met her and got her twitter/facebook/number? So had to have lied about meeting her period.... also how the hell is Te'o dumb enough to think hes talking to a girl for THREE years when it's a dude? Did he never get pictures of her? If he'd actually met her he would've known the picture on her social media accounts werent actually her.

    There are so many holes in this its ridiculous... stop standing up for this guy because he can play football(to an extent...obviously not against the SEC though) and because hes came on TV crying with puppy dog eyes. See him for what he is...presumably a liar.

  • It is bad about Manti and over on "faithful" pay site, total denial, and anger, lots of anger.

    Watch Embrace Debate later today on ESPN ---two hours about Manti.

    Steven A made some great observations as did other panelist.

    Those "faithful" refuse any rational explanations about a very irrational bizzare stunt.

    The hyper reality of so much info coming at us everyday means loss of self, the lines are blurred between man and machine. And you may be seeing the future.
    As Jack said last nite, "He can not get his arms around this Internet Age."

    And then teared up, not for Manti, but for his own failures. IMHO

    Maybe he is, who knows? As far as OP goes believe Te'o in what regards? This is how I see it. He was dumb and fell for a hoax that a few kids ran on him. When he found out, I have no clue, he continued to let the story run instead of manning up and taking his punches. Now he's getting knocked the fuk out. Until he speaks that's how I see it. What part woukd anger you the most? Him being in on this from the start or not stepping up and admitting he knew 4 weeks ago or whenever he found out?

    This is how I see it unless it can be proven he just made the whole thing up, then I just think he's crazy, which will help him be a great NFL linebacker.

    I also think Notre Dame and Teo both should have "manned up" as soon as it was known it was false instead of riding the sympathy/feel good story train through the BCS title game and beyond. Notre Dame is better than that and owed it to the public to let the truth be known as quickly as possible considering the story was huge and helped Teo's Heisman candidacy.

    It's a sad deal. Once again a story we can all feel good about is just that- a story- something that did not exist. The hand-wringing apologists don't really understand the greater problem- and that's that we have an issue in our country with the devaluation of the truth.

  • This is going to cost the kid a couple of rounds in the draft no matter the outcome. If he lied, then GM's are going to be skeptical on whether he has the fabric to be a part of their team in the first place. If he didn't and was dooped, how fvcking gullible can you be and do you want someone like that leading your defense?

    This is going to hurt the kid just on those two principles of thinking, forget the BS that will come with signing the kid (Tebow type publicity).

  • I think he was "Catfish'd" and found out somehow then proceeded to keep the hoax alive for some odd reason. Swarbrick and ND lied also in this and it was easy to tell 2 mins into his PC the other night. Teo is a liar.

    I got a good laugh at Pete Thamel going around trying to save face today.

I know that the kid wasn't as gullible as he said he was. He has already admitted to meeting the girl in person (on television) and his family admitted to meeting her in person "several" times in Hawaii IN PERSON.

    I want to hear the facts when all the holes are filled in. Trust me, they are going to get filled in before the draft. There are WAY to many people that are good at their jobs on this case for the holes to not get filled in. I want to know how deep it goes. In my previous statement, I played both ends of the spectrum if I was a GM that was going into this draft.

    I played if he DIDN'T lie and if he DID lie to show that who gives a damn what comes out of this when talking about his draft status. Even if he was innocent completely, which I don't believe he is at all, it would still hurt him in the draft because of how naive and gullible he must have been.

    It is out of their hands now.

    I don't completely blame Notre Dame for backing the kid up, because it shows dedication to their players. They are riding on a slippery fvcking slope with this. They start bashing a kid, and it could look bad in recruits eyes. Honestly, Notre Dame is in a lose, lose situation.

    I don't blame the university or anyone else but Te'o in the situation. I think Notre Dame could have dealt with it a bit better when they found out, but they did have a national title game coming up. I mean I doubt they even have their heads fully wrapped around it yet. Still, you have to show that you support your players instead of throwing them under the buss publicly. Now why they continued to let him perpetuate the lie, I have no idea.

    I guess I say all that to say that I don't believe Notre Dame is trying to doctor up anything. They could have just shut their mouth's, and probably should have. Dude isn't going to play another game for them so that whole news conference baffled me TBH.

    If, you read previous post between me and JC. I was questioning anyone trying to tell me, you, that USA has a truth problem.
